lindleya1 Thank you, that is exactly what I was getting at. It would really make the deck overly complicated if I wanted to play by the rules, and I'm a bit of a stickler for the rules with this game.

DERPLINGSUPREME I refuse to run Humility and Godhead of Awe in this deck, I can't allow my gods to become humbled. :p

but just imagine all of the games you can break!

like, actually break! it ends the game in the funniest way possible.

then again, I guess seeing my gods get humbled would really salt my apples.

+1.

Anyways I was thinking why not add Cryptolith Rite?

Every playtest I try of this deck, both in this and in Cockatrice, tries to leave me mana-dry on several attempted first hands. You may need to consider buffing the land count/ramping capability and finding some fat to trim elsewhere.

May 28, 2016 11:14 p.m.

A couple more lands and Cryptolith Rite is probably the right direct

Oh coarse how come Wrath of God is not in this that fits the theme and that's the kingpin list of removals.

Oh and for and for a planeswalker

If your willing to go a little off budget

Or if eternal master reduces the price enough

I think Jace, the Mind Sculptor will work in this.

May 31, 2016 12:05 p.m.

oh actually (sorry triple post)

how about Burgeoning

Have you ever tried any of the bringer creatures? They're godlike based on the suns: "There were five Bringers, all concepted as manifestations of the energy of the five "suns" (moons) of Mirrodin. Each of these rare creatures has a mana cost of 7MM, but can be played for WUBRG instead of the mana cost. Each has trample and a powerful ability that may be played at the beginning of the owner's upkeep."-mtgsalvation

You are forgetting the best planeswalker out there. This would be Deathrite Shaman. Best utility CMC planewalker lol

This looks like a really fun deck. If I had the resources, it is definitely in the vein of what I'd assemble.

In the theme of godly cards I'm curious as to whether you've considered any of the myojin? They are, after all, gods. They provide good devotion, and all have very powerful abilities. Myojin of Cleansing Fire for example is a board wipe on legs, and the gods are indestructible; you keep creature advantage. Myojin of Life's Web is arguably the most effective way of cheating many things in at once. They're not the most competitive by any stretch, but they certainly are fun, and they're very good at what they do.

@Supplice, Myojin Shinto Gods sound great. I did miss those and will try to fit some in.

September 17, 2016 3:41 a.m.

The Myojins could work actually

What each one does if you remove the counter.

White = creature board sweep

Red = land board sweep

Green = cheat any number of creatures from you hand to the field

Black = force everyone to discard their hands

Blue = draw for each permanent you control.

@Supplice If I were to add the Myojins, I'd have to take things out that in my opinion work better for the deck. Don't get me wrong, they were some of the first cards I considered outside of the Theros Pantheon. To show why I did not include them I will weigh them against the cards that knocked them out of the running, the Lorwyn demigods. Devotion was a major point you talked about, but the Demigods do it better in every way. Shinto Gods give 3 to one color, the Demigods give 5 to two colors. One Demigod on the field provides enough devotion for nearly half the pantheon to be creatures, where one of the Myojin don't even give enough for 1 to be a creature. Streamlining the devotion enablers is really key to this deck since half of my creature spells are only creatures when devotion is met. While the Demigods are not indestructible like the Myojin can be, they have a much more relevant creature type to the deck(I'm most likely going to call Avatar on my Cavern of Souls, not spirit) and come in greater numbers. Plus, when I use a mass recursion spell on them, they are still relevant to game play instead of being vanilla creatures.

It's a shame that they're not more playable, because I really wanted to add them when I made this deck.

Aww, I was really hoping that the Commander would be Karona, False God. At least Progenitus is better than most since it's a Hydra.

Plsdontquit says... #16

Karona, False God is probably thematically better but Progenitus feels more Theros-y. Plus I just love Progenitus.

I see that you're considering Dragon Arch. I highly recommend it, given that 60% of your creatures are multi-colored.

Alchemist's Refuge is useful as the other part of making Seedborn Muse do the work of Prophet of Kruphix.

Finally, Heroes' Podium lets you get your Gods into your hand ASAP, as well as beefing them up if necessary.

First off, I love the deck! I'm currently constructing a very similar deck and I think there is much room for improvement for yours:1. Lands; you don't have a single basic land. You don't have a single Fetch land. That's hurting the flexibility of the deck a lot. I know that Fetch lands are expensive, however if you are running Shock Lands you can search for any type of mana that you need.2. I think you run to much artifacts, that's hurting your devotion. The only one I'm running is Sol Ring (because Sol Ring). There are enchantment replacements for artifacts that you are running:- Replacing Sensei's Divining Top with Sylvan Library. - Replacing Fist of Suns with Mindwrack Liege or Maelstrom Nexus or Maelstrom Archangel- Replacing a Mana Rocks with something like Khalni Heart Expedition or Life from the Loam however you don't run Fetch Lands or Basic Lands, and again that is hurting your deck.- Replacing a mana rock with Oracle of Mul Daya3. To few boardclears, the strength of your deck is something you must exploit. That is: having a lot of indestructible gods. So, blow it up! If you have each and every single god in play, they all have enough devotion to be creatures. Akroma's Vengeance will make sure that your opponents don't have anything to defend with. Planar Collapse some gods and Replenish is extremely powerfull: You get your gods out that your opponents just cleared and they can't play creatures because in you upkeep they will be removed instantly.4. To few devotion. Ghastlord of Fugue, Demigod of Revenge, Deus of Calamity, Oversoul of Dusk, Divinity of Pride, Deity of Scars, Overbeing of Myth, Dominus of Fealty, Nobilis of War instantly activate gods that share one single color. That is more powerfull then a Akroma's Memorial. Lieges are also a possibility!

Kind regards.

Good news for you - new Gods are confirmed for Amonkhet!

No news on whether they will function on devotion like the last set.

February 16, 2017 4:17 p.m.

[Wild pair] you play a lot of five drop creatures, this would help cheat them in

April 17, 2017 4:34 p.m.

never mind, i read things wrong

Pardon if I ask a weird question. How does Patriarch's Bidding help when almost all of the Gods are Legendary? How does Legendary rules not apply here?

lil_cheez says... #23

Azarath You can have any number legendary creatures on your side of the battlefield as long as they don't have the same name

No Amonkhet/Hour of Devastation gods? :(

Daedalus19876 Sadly the Five main gods don't really fit into this deck mechanically. I am definitely considering the three HOU insect gods though.
