That's actually a valid point. xD

What should I cut for it?

Supreme Verdict and Merciless Eviction are two more very good board wipes. Also if you're going to throw in ultimatums why not Cruel Ultimatum ?

Dark Realms doesn't seem worth it if you only have five swamps, no? Xenagos sounds a bit better for his 0, it can get you chumps or build up to his first ability if you need mana.

I could see swapping Liliana of the Dark Realms for Xenagos, The Reveler . The reason I like her though was that I could grab shock lands with her, and I am heavier in black than I am with red or green. I'll make the swap and playtest it a bit to see how I like it.Thanks, Yuven, Paradoxodon, and Sarothcyngus!

Is this an actual deck?

October 29, 2013 12:09 p.m.

Skull_Creed says... #9

Yep. I'm missing a few cards from it, but it's mostly just the fetch lands. I have the Mind Sculptor and the other Planeswalkers, minus Ajani Vengeant and Gideon Jura . When I first made the deck, I didn't have nearly any of it, but now, I'm only missing a few hard to find cards.

A local shop I go to holds Commander tournies, and I'm going to be taking this (with the few missing cards replaced with others) to actually test it out. I playtested when I got most of the cards with a friend of mine four or five times and only lost to a misplay on my part.

Not to triple post, but I'll post up my results when I get back from the tourney Saturday. The tourney is 2-Headed Giant style, and usually has only a handful of people. A good portion of them take it seriously enough to be viable results.

Please do, I have wondered if this would work.

Tezzeret's Gambit *, and I might remove the Gideon, Champion of Justice because he did absolutely nothing in any game I played him except attract a little attention.

I like the proliferate idea, but there might be better ones out there. Harmonize , Ponder , Preordain , Rhystic Study would be a start. As this deck evolves it will balance out with a bit less PWs, and a bit more other stuff. You will figure out which ones are best as you go.

Inexorable Tide Contagion Engine maybe. You may also want some more ramp in there too.

Skull_Creed says... #17

It already runs both Inexorable Tide and Contagion Engine . I keep thinking about throwing a Rhystic Study in. And the more I play the deck, the more I realize which planeswalkers don't really work and which win the game on the spot. I can't think of any real great ramp spells I don't already have in the deck. Basic land searches don't work well, and put into hand effects aren't great for the deck.

Thanks, Didgeridooda!

Whoops I missed those in there. I did not double check. Expedition Map may also be very helpful. It can find any land, not just basic.

I had it in here for a while, but it ended up being a dead draw most of the time, or just not doing enough. I'm hoping by the time I actually get the fetches for the deck, they'll be enough. But, who knows.

Nice deck, I have a similar deck over here Child of the Super Friends EDH. I have found that Rings of Brighthearth works amazingly. Doubling the superfriend's ultimates or even their +1 / -1's can be brutal. Faith's Reward can also be an amazing save card in this deck.

A big issue I have is that a lot of the people I play use WB and threw in Merciless Eviction s mostly just because I started building the deck, so it's iffy to have Faith's Reward in the deck. Although, I'll admit, letting my PWs get alpha'd and playing Faith's Reward right after to blow the opponent out of the water seems pretty legit. I need a way to effectively counter Merciless Eviction though.

Yep, Merciless Eviction is definitely a card... other than counters you just have to play around it (keeping a few walkers in hand). However, Faith's Reward has so many other plays. For example: early / mid game ultimate Elspeth Tirel and then Faith's Reward... all your walkers are back and can use their abilities twice in the turn. Or late game, something like All Is Dust or Planar Cleansing and then Faith's Reward for good times. It's also good when a bunch of walkers just get aggro'd in someone else's turn. I find it works a treat in the deck.

Also: after you've sac'd your Child of Alara .

Alright, I think I'm going to take out Black Sun's Zenith for Cryptic Command because I've had a few games where I've had indestructible creatures (thanks to Elspeth, Knight-Errant early game) and needed a board wipe and only had BSZ. Cryptic Command is a blue staple, and while it may be triple blue, it's definitely worth it. I might take out the Blue Sun's Zenith for another counter spell, or the previously mentioned Faith's Reward . Problem is is that I don't have either of the cards, so I won't be able to playtest them outside of this. Thanks, Didgeridooda and jamin!
