I hear ya on approach why I had to add glorious end in my RDW to beat approach. That card is busted but meh.

Atroxreaper at least I have eight chances to stop it, now.

The four Lost Legacy weren't doing it for me.

I would cut the dispossess,Doomfall, duress and supernatural stamina for rekindling Phoenix

Ardawg123 none of those cards are in my deck.

They are in the Maybeboard.

For what reason would you include Rekindling Phoenix?

I tested with it, and the other Creatures were far better.

This is a Control deck. Everything it does seeks to Control the Opponent.

Yes, the Phoenix is annoying, but it doesn't kill Opponent Creatures, or take their cards, like the other Creatures in the Deck do.

You don't want too many Creatures in a Control deck, so it's EITHER Rekindling Phoenix OR Glorybringer OR Tetzimoc, Primal Death.

The last two Creatures help so much more with the Control aspect.

It could replace Twilight Prophet, but the card draw and life in the late game is proving to be valuable.

Gonti, Lord of Luxury is necessary in the Sideboard against Approach of the Second Sun decks.

Thanks for the idea, but at this stage it's a no go.

Do you know how to link cards? It's much easier to know what you're talking about, if you do.

The tutorials on your Profile will teach you how.

Why are you exiling cards in the graveyard if you want Angrath's ultimate to go off. That is the exact opposite that you want to happen.

February 19, 2018 9:23 p.m.

Argy says... #8

vasarto77 it's just a fail safe option for an Opponent resolving The Scarab God, or Torrential Gearhulk.

In actual play, Angrath, the Flame-Chained doesn't usually hit its ultimate.

It usually just slowly picks at my Opponent's hand, and life total.

If you can think of another way of Exiling all the cards in my Opponent's Graveyard at once, without Exiling all of mine, I'm all ears.

Argy says... #9

I can fill their Graveyard back up again fairly quickly, anyway.

Argy says... #11

I appreciate the suggestions, but emptying my Graveyard hasn't been a problem, as of yet.

I'll look into Scarab Feast, if it starts to be.

I also have a deck that uses the same planeswalker, but mine uses a few burn spells and black and red zombies....it's terrible right now lol. How does yours do in normal games right now? Not very good at standard right now, and most of my focus is trying to refine my modern deck that I just made that I might even need to tear apart and add a third color onto.

Pabs4444 says... #13

What is the goal of the deck? I personally chose to go down the path of discard with Angrath to fill up the opponents graveyard. It works best against control decks because the enchantments Torment of Scarabs, Raiders' Wake, and Cruel Reality are doing the majority of the damage, making their boardwipes not nearly as effective.

vasarto77 it's a bit early for me to tell how this does at tournament level.

I can tell you that it thrashes most Creature decks.

I need to play it against more Approach of the Second Sun decks, to see if the new tweaks to it works against those.

Your deck sounds very different. Almost Aggro. This is Control.

Pabs4444 read my extensive description if you want to know how this deck works.

Also, Silent Gravestone shuts down The Scarab God while keeping the cards in the graveyard in the event that you reach the ultimate. Twilight Prophet seems too slow, only because you are dependent on having the cities blessing. Have you considered Glint-Sleeve Siphoner? I don't see it in your 'already considered' section. It's great early-mid game, provides a body that can attack in early and easily against all decks due to menace, provide card advantage, and is also another way to get more energy for Harnessed Lightning. In the event you play against Approach, you can cast Harnessed Lightning just for the energy and use Glint-Sleeve Siphoner to turn that energy into card advantage. Do you mind if I share one of my versions of the deck?

Pabs4444 you've joined this discussion late.

Glint-Sleeve Siphoner has already been talked about.

I will add it to the list of rejected cards.

Twilight Prophet has been great.

This is a Control deck. It wants a long game. Plenty of time to get the City's Blessing, which I have discussed ad nauseum above.

Sorry, but I'm not really interested in looking at a different version of this deck.

This deck has been doing its job.

Someone has just come along and assumed that Scavenger Grounds is not right for this deck, and lots of other people have jumped into the discussion based on that.

This deck can still win if Scavenger Grounds is used.

It just takes a bit longer.

All the extra cards people have been suggesting dilute what this deck wants to do.

No need to be sorry; that is why I asked instead of jus simply posting it. I appreciate your quick responses. Have you considered Silent Gravestone for against The Scarab God? It also is another artifact to help in the event you have Unlicensed Disintegration. If you don't mind me asking, what was it about Siphoner that did not work out? Has Evolving Wilds been considered at all in the mana base? It is the easiest way in Standard to guarantee a revolt on Fatal Push in Standard.

Argy says... #19

I don't think Silent Gravestone will work in my meta, with so many copies of Abrade running around.

They are loathe to Abrade my Metalspinner's Puzzleknot, as that is seen as a bit of a waste.

I think they will find Silent Gravestone a more worthy target.

Argy says... #20

Pabs4444 again, this is a Control deck.

It does not want any more slow lands, as it needs to stay on curve.

Metalspinner's Puzzleknot can be sacced to trigger Fatal Push if needed, but with Harnessed Lightning, Cut / Ribbons, Unlicensed Disintegration, and Vraska's Contempt in the mix, I rarely need to trigger Fatal Push.

I hate to punch you in the guy like this but your deck is just too............. FUN LOOKING! If I had the extra money I would try this deck because it looks fun. Nice deck. Thats a +1 from me.

Argy says... #24

Thanks sportcarracer.

I'm going to guess that you meant punch me in the gut, because StuBi is my guy, and I don't think he would appreciate the violence to his person.

This deck is fun to play if you crush someone who thinks they are better than you, not so fun if you can see your Opponent's shoulders drop.

thegr8jr says... #25

can confirm this deck is fun to play, tried it at showdown today, only thing i couldnt deal with easily and effectlively was early card draw . i was suggested to run gifter aetherborn and glint-sleeve for early drops and treasure maps instead of the puzzlenots.

thanks for the sideboard :) and i hope it can be made better :)
