Float like a Feather, Swing like a Tree

Combat tricks galore!

I see 4 primary ways to build feather:

  1. Guttersnipe and friends tempo/control

  2. Creature buff aggro feat. +1/+1 counters and buff spells

  3. feather beatdown disruption

  4. Token swarm with board buffs

I can't figure out which variant I want this deck to be, so it's a bit of a value-heavy mish-mash of all the various archetypes in an effort to handle multiple types of threats. I assume this makes the deck weaker, but more playtesting should help me identify which route I want to lean toward.

I don't want to lean too far into guttersnipe and friends shenanigans because it's very low interactivity. I'm making a promise to myself to not play more than 3 guttersnipes, and as of now it's just Guttersnipe and Invasion of Karsus

Creature buff is probably the fastest way to build the deck, but I'm wary of outpacing my meta too much, or losing the potential for games to go as long. (with the right draws, this variant of the deck could close out games as early as turn 4-5). It'd be focused on cards like Electrostatic Infantry, Swiftblade Vindicator, and Illuminator Virtuoso

Feather beatdown disruption is out of budget and frankly, also too annoying to play against for my opponents. This would involve things like Grand Abolisher, Archivist of Oghma, drannith magistrae and other miscellaneous cards whose goal is to reduce the effectiveness of your opponent's cards. Meanwhile you sit pretty with feather and swing for 3+ every turn. That said, if my opponent is playing heavy removal, I'm gonna have to default to this playstyle anyway so I like to keep it as an option.

Token swarm is the slowest of the bunch with the highest likelihood to be disrupted by removal, since most protections spells are single target. But the solution to that is to just have more threats.

Goldspan Dragon Storm-Kiln Artist are purposefully kept out of the deck since I think the treasure tokens can elevate the deck to a whole new level of irritating. If you want to win, those cards are auto-includes though. Probably Smothering Tithe as well.

If I ever end up with a Stoneforge Mystic, I'd probably put it in this deck
