Taking out Curse of Bloodletting , Curse of Exhaustion , Cathars' Crusade to replace with Phyrexian Reclamation , Necromancy , and Cataclysm .

Taking out Crypt of Agadeem for World at War

Taking out Restoration Angel and Serra Avenger for Twilight Shepherd (+ Cataclysm should be an interesting combo) and Angelic Arbiter

Taking out Sepulchral Primordial and Stronghold Overseer for Master of Cruelties and Demon of Death's Gate

Taking out Scourge of Kher Ridges , Steel Hellkite , and Dragonmaster Outcast for Hellkite Tyrant , Dragon Mage , and Balefire Dragon

Should be an interesting switch, it gets harder and harder to pinpoint cards that should be replaced so I welcome suggestions.

I will give an upvote for a kaalia fan!

I am playing the same way.. not buying all those $$$ angels quite yet.

Here is my deck to get some more ideas:

Kaalia de la Vastedad EDH

Some quick cheap swaps..

Rune-Scarred Demon go get that creature you want/need

Sunblast Angel an angel that you can wipe the board with .. great and cheap.

Dragon Mage for that inevitable card draw with kaalia.

Your set up is very different from mine. you play with additional combat Phases so u got some creeps who dont do anything the first turn when played with kaalia i.e. Aurelia, the Warleader and others.so i dont know how this works out for u.u mentioned a lack of anti control/blue? go for:

Akroma, Angel of Fury

Out of interest why no Griselbrand or Iona, Shield of Emeria ? Those two would be awesome on this. None the less good job. +1

@beakedbard they are on the wish list along with a few others. Just dropped $100 on single cards in the last few weeks, and on some pretty heavy hitters too. I plan to play this deck with some different variations of what I have, then buy Rakdos the Defiler Reya Dawnbringer , Angel of Serenity , Rimescale Dragon , Iona, Linvala, Keeper of Silence , prolly a Zirilan of the Claw , and a Sword of Feast and Famine , and maybe griselbrand. I thought he was banned for edh, I'll have to check and see if my casual group is okay with it. Would be pretty cool to have both Avacyn and griselbrand out fighting for the same time haha. Thanks for the up vote!

I still say you should grab Iona if you can she can fully shut down mono-colored decks and mess up others quite a bit. Oh snap realise he was banned my bad I suppose it makes sense though. Although if he's banned there should be some other things banned as well.

Iona is now on the top of my list, and I still might get griselbrand just to see their faces when I drop him on a Kaalia swoop

I know that Griselbrand is banned in EDH. He is still standard legal though!

So xGRIZx you're saying I should make a 60 card deck with 4 griselbrands, 4 avacyns, 4 quicksilver Amulets, Sol Ring, Thran Dynamo, and 4 Gisela's? Cuz I could see that being a good time.

Does anyone know of a spell/creature/artifact that stops players from sacrificing creatures? My friend has a Gravepact and other spells that make it so my commander can get mopped without having to be destroyed or targeted. I thought about spells that gave them persist, but that seems like it might be too clunky. Thoughts?

As a fellow Kaalia player, I will say this - You do not have enough lands. If Kaalia herself can't last long enough to drop your fatties in, you're going to have a bad game with them sitting in hand.

Load up the lands, you're missing important ones like Slayer's Stronghold and Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion. Drop some off the off-theme stuff like Sarkhan (one card and he dies?) Fevor is some what irrelevant with Kaalia, and Memorial makes up for it latter on (and I'd be in favor of dropping that too.) Defy Death is outclassed in terms of utility by both Beacon of Unrest and Aid of Obzedat - and others even like Reanimate or Animate Dead.

If you want, you can check out my own Kaalia list through my profile, its a pretty good list, though it doesn't really do the mass-LD; or mana-rock styles its a fun deck to play and can get out of hand pretty quickly - even without its general.

Hey Joz thanks for the take on Kaalia. This deck is always developing, and mostly based on what I can spend money on at the time. I used the signets to help out of some jams but have never really had a problem with getting mana screwed. I usually just make sure to start my first hand with as much mana as I can which helps. So does Land Tax , Quicksilver Amulet and the fetch lands. I rarely use sarkhan for his 0 ability, preferring to use his -2 to pick off particularly nasty creatures my opponents have in a pinch. I have also had some really fun times comboing Warstorm Surge , Angel of Despair , Phyrexian Reclamation , and Sarkhan.

That being said, I am always looking to take this deck in new directions. I took the whole thing apart last weekend and am doing three separate tribal themes to freshen up the mechanics and play for my casual group. It's currently set to dragons, which I should probably create/post so I can get some feedback. I'm more excited for the Demon rebuild and have started putting in orders for cards for that too.

Anyway thanks for the input, always appreciated, even if most of your suggestions were more products of what I had available than what I went and bought. Now I'm lusting after beacon of unrest and aid of obzedat those cards are exactly what I need. Fervor really hasn't done anything for me, nor has Anger , even though they are both "awesome." My Akroma's Memorial has helped me too many times in my casual group for me to take it out, especially considering everyone uses red or black or a combo of the two.

I love playing kaalia, especially as a sleeper so people always wonder if I'm gonna break her out. I've tried to make it so that when she gets bounced I can recur her pretty easily. Lately I've had to deal more with everyone switching to control decks and farming my big creatures to use against me (last three games I have lost because of a creature I owned that was stolen from me). I'll check out your deck for some idea too, thanks for commenting!
