someone want to tell me how this is a combo? Ornithopter + Pia's Revolution + Ravenous Intruder . i'd just take the 3 life and keep Ornithopter in the graveyard.

Then you have an Ornithopter that's dealt 3 damage to you, rather than 0

The combo is that you sac Ornithopter to Ravenous Intruder, then potentially get a bit more damage through due to Pia's Revolution.

You might not think it's a GOOD combo, but it's a combo nonetheless.

Argy, I noticed the "combo", just am kinda getting tired of all these "combo" decks that don't have actual combo's.

side note: Not hating on the deck at all as i love the concept and think the deck could actually do well just trying to find an actual combo deck for standard that i can modify and use.

Sounds like you are bringing a lot of your own baggage to these Comments.

Well no need to be rude Argy.

It's too early in the morning to care about useless people online rn.

Just being matter of fact.

I'm not interested in you trying to start something in someone else's Comment section, so I'll leave you to it.

I would say "combo" is a pretty loose term especially regarding deck archetypes. The biggest combo in this deck is Ravenous Intruder + Fling over the pseudo infinite combo using Ornithopter. I was just trying to talk up the deck as much as I could in the description...

I've been using this deck since the end of July, and I really like it. Especially because it was so cheap at $15. One thing that I understand is the purpose of Key to the City, but I rarely see it used. The only time I see myself using it is in a rare case that I don't have a card for trample, or I need to sacrifice it. I'm not sure if you get the same results but a suggestion made was replacing Bomat Courier with Implement of Combustion. Instead of this why not replace Key to the City with it. That will leave an artifact cheaper to cast, and more useful when it does sacrificing.

Also, side note, what is the Ravenous Intruder + Fling combo, is it just flinging Ravenous when he builds up? I find myself attacking and winning anyway if Ravenous Intruder builds enough up.

Thanks, woodwender! I'm so glad that you have been enjoying the deck. :) And yeah I agree with you about Key to the City. I tweak my list in paper and forget to change it here. I'm running just two at this point because it is pretty sweet to have your Ravenous Intruder be unblockable after eating a bunch of artifacts. It also has some card draw if the game gets stale. And Fling is in there so for some reach or getting in an attack with a pumped up Ravenous Intruder and then flinging it for maximum damage.

It would be interesting to see how you play, I almost never discard with Key to the City, mainly because I feel like the unblockable is just a luxury. I also feel like Fling is counterintuitive to Key to the City. I almost always sacrifice it before it gets any uses.

woodwender, I actually had a game last night where my opponent had 18 life and I had exact lethal by pumping my Ravenous Intruder to a 9/10, making it unblockable with Key to the City and finally Flinging it for the win. I like key at 2 because every once and a while it gives you that extra burst or can draw you a card if needed.

Yes I am starting to realize the importance of Key to the City now as I play with it more. I find that the deck almost completely relies on a sacrifice outlet to function as intended, if there is any way of figuring out how to add more of those.

Yeah I agree! I added some more threats in case you don't draw Ravenous Intruder which has helped a lot. :)

I know this doesn't go along with the theme of the deck, but for other threats, Inventor's Apprentice or Pia Nalaar are viable options. For more passive damage, Reckless Fireweaver or Quicksmith Rebel could be great additions to the deck.

I really like Reckless Fireweaver. Especially with Servo Schematic. I feel like it's tough to fit additional things in, and the 2-drop slot is pretty full. Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Yeah it would be very hard to fit in, but it would be a nice addition

Great Lord of the Rings reference. I'm upvoting the deck.
