So I was watching this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhLAJYJvlw8&t=313s) by The Commander's Quarters on YouTube, and Mitch was saying how you can put this new 'rune' on a vehicle and made a flying submarine. As soon as I saw this, I was like, "Yes! I'm making a deck all about flying Submarines!" Sadly there aren't many Submarines that I could find in Magic, so I had to make the deck work alongside flying submarines instead of around flying submarines. The end result is this, and I'm quite proud of it.

At the time of making the deck, Rune of Flight isn't even a legal card yet and I have no idea how much It will cost, but so far the deck costs like $11 to $12 as of right now, not to include lands, so it's pretty dirt cheap.

Battlefield Thaumaturge Show

Aside from being (intended to be) all about flying submarines, the star of this deck is Battlefield Thaumaturge , which I happened to come across as I was finding cards to build the deck.

I personally believe Baral's Expertise to be an extremely powerful card on its own, forcing your opponent to take extra time to recast their cards while simultaneously giving you an opening to attack with your creatures and allowing you to cast a 3 or 4 cmc card in addition for free. If you have Battlefield Thaumaturge on the battlefield, you can cast Baral's Expertise for only to pull all that off.

Also, Battlefield Thaumaturge synergizes with Open Into Wonder and Profane Command . These spells cost to cast for each target, then have their cost reduced by for each target with Battlefield Thaumaturge . This negates the cost in the card making them each essentially become 2 cmc cards to target any number of creatures you want. These cards on their own make for great finishers, but with Battlefield Thaumaturge they're so much easier to cast.

Also, Battlefield Thaumaturge stacks. Imagine having two of them with a Profane Command .
