I was thinking of removing a Judge's Familiar and 1 more card and adding the 2x Azorius Charm to the mainboard.

Would love to hear what you guys think about that and if you would recommend 2 cards to remove for them.

I'd say add in the Azorius Charm since you have plenty of evasion, but no removal. The lifelink and card draw from it don't hurt either. Might have to build this myself and play it at FNM. Looks fun. I'd definitely put some Rootborn Defenses in the sideboard though.

Nice addition, I like that. I'm going to add that to my maybe card list. Also, it is fun. I've been having a blast with it. Thanks for the advice!

Ok so what about this, crazy thought ... what if I board out the 4 Soldier of the Pantheon and add in 4x Hopeful Eidolon Crazy boosts Ethereal Armor , I can bestow it on Fabled Hero , and its still agro b/c I could:

Turn 1: play the eidolonsTurn 2: play a ethereal armor on him and a Aqueous Form and swing in for 4 lifelink (or a double ethereal and swing for 7 lifelink on turn 2)

I just feel like he gives me more options than my Soldier of the Pantheon does.

Thoughts?

I would say leave the Soldiers in, because literally every deck plays multi-colored spells, even if it is just Boros Reckoner and Frostburn Weird . Also I didn't even look at your other deck and I agree with how you splashed blue here. The card draw off Bident is awesome, especially with the unblockable/scry off Aqueous Form (now that I look at that... this is nuts!), Thassa is just a house, and Azorius charm is one of the strongest charms to be printed. All in all... +1 from me haha

Thanks strateupjee I really appreciate the feedback! I'll put the Hopeful Eidolon s on the back-burner for now until I can come up with a better way to add them in.

To go on further, with multi colored gods coming out, Soldier is gonna get nuts

Hey strateupjee, what about removing 2 Precinct Captain s and a Judge's Familiar

Would then be running 2 of each and could run 3 Hopeful Eidolon s

I feel the Captain is just too strong both devotion wise as well as relevant abilities wise to remove. I feel the first thing to remove would be the Familiars, moving them to the sideboard for decks with a lot of instants and sorceries.

strateupjee you make a strong point, I think I'll try that instead

Hey strateupjee and brownkidd, what would you think about adding in Daxos of Meletis

I am going to playtest dropping in two of him and removing the Judge's Familiar

Deck is now updated

actually removed the Azorius Charm to side board to make it happen. I forgot that I already bumped the Judge's Familiar for the Hopeful Eidolon s

I see similar variations of this deck on MTGO fairly often and it is a pretty good aggro theme. The one card I don't see mentioned here and comes to my mind, mainly because I've used it in my heroic decks and it pretty much gives me a quick win if it comes out early is Hidden Strings .

+1'd ya. thanks :)

I really don't see any problem with the deck, maybe a Frontline Medic added to the sideboard but it's not necessary +1ed

December 29, 2013 5:51 p.m.

Wow I can't believe I haven't thought of Hidden Strings

What would you remove to add 2?

I like the deck a lot... it played well against my esper, gets set back a bit by Blood Baron of Vizkopa and Supreme Verdict but overall really good... you're still weak to mass removal and sac effects but not a whole lot to be done about that... maybe rootborn defences?... i like aqueous form to make each attack count... one creature your missing that can be overlooked is Lyev Skyknight ... seriously that card did wonders at one of the latest gps in japan and gives you another evasive target that can swing games at times...

Thanks for the play test and advice cptjmaverick I appreciate it

Have you considered 2 thassa's instead of 2 heliods?

January 9, 2014 2:26 p.m.

Cleared the comments again, but would still love to hear what everyone has to say. Thanks again to all who have helped make this deck a real winner!

To be honest, Daxos wouldn't be in my version of this list. He is interesting and nice to consider, but the value you get for him is pretty low. I play a similar list, but I use Triton Fortune Hunter and a few Fate Foretold . At first glance Fate Foretold might not be a great idea, but when you realize that you get a heroic trigger and profit in the event of his death it isn't that bad of a card. One of the things that I like is the combo of Daxos with Ajani. with the Double strike you get 2 cards for 1 swing. It is nice, but I think you'd get better value off of a Wingsteed Rider . Same cost, but better value with the heroic trigger and the flying. put an Ordeal of Thassa on him and he gets big fast with extra cards in your hand 2 turns after you put it on him.

Thanks for the input, I have another deck that runs Triton Fortune Hunter , Fabled Hero , and Battlewise Hoplite in combo with Hidden Strings , Aqueous Form

i play tested this deck vs a esper midrange and did seem to now have enough answers to flying but vs a agro deck it destroys

January 11, 2014 12:11 p.m.
