We don't actually play a ton of non-green permanents. I'd probably play Priest of Titania first, because of how common elves are in competitive pods. (Regularly taps for 3+). We don't really need a ton of big-mana though.

Any issues with adding Altar of the Brood as an additional wincon trigger?

meowndabout You want it to be castable via Food Chain mana. I'd rather Walking Ballista instead, but I don't think you really need it.

play Demonic Consultation seeking out Misthollow Griffin to try and setup an early win, ended up exiling 80 cards...i think i played that a bit too early

meowndabout: Demonic Consultation should always name Food Chain, as you want to exile the CFE creatures in the search.

IAmTheWraith Yep, i did that in a different game to a similar result, Food Chain was the 3rd card from the bottom of my deck

i exiled the entire combo...except Food Chain in that one transaction

ren666: Zulaport Cutthroat only triggers when a creature dies, not when a creature leaves the battlefield. So exiling Eternal Scourge to Food Chain wouldn't trigger it.

ShaperSavant, do you think Squee will shift the deck composition at all other than the Containment Priest swap? I could see Imperial Recruiter potentially slotting in better now as Squee is a valid target for it. Intuition also has a solid interaction with there now being 3 CFE creatures, as well as Squee's ability to be cast from the graveyard. Opinions?

I don't have any interest in playing 3 mana tutors. Recruiter seems very narrow (and the R payment is trickier than it deserves to be), especially with the lone hatebear leaving. Inuition is similar; its best in a context where it's a triple tutor that fuels your graveyard, but we don't maximize that synergy. If I was going to play a 3 mana tutor, it needs to be able to find Food Chain. The pick would be Grim Tutor, but it's largely too slow.

I may test Entomb to pair with Squee (cutting Gilded Drake). It's functionally similar to Extract, except happens to be an instant. The risk here is the narrowness -- if we see too many CFE creatures and Extract/Manipulate effects together, it can be an uncomfortable amount of dead cards in hand.

Otherwise, no changes really anticipated besides the inclusion of Squee/Entomb.

What're you thoughts on Eladamri's Call? I know Entomb is one less mana, however it seems a lot more narrow as it feels like Squee would be your only target for it. and call still has the benefit of being an instant.

enpc Costing white mana (and being twice as expensive) makes it more difficult, and I'm actually cutting the only creatures that aren't the CFEs, dorks, or Dark Confidant. I don't really care to tutor up any of these besides the CFEs.

in lieu of the changes in Dominaria, i did switch Containment Priest out for Aven Mindcensor, there isn't much of a prevalence of Flash Hulk type effects in my meta, most nontoken creatures are cast normally without any shenanigans

ShaperSavant: that makes sense. Out of curiosity, how does Dark Confidant go in this list? I used to run him in a slightly higher curve Thrasios/Tymna list but he always felt a bit slow.

enpc He's quite good, perhaps a little slow if your meta is blisteringly fast (though I do think competent opponents tend to not let the game end too soon too often). Card advantage is key, especially in games that don't go immediately in your favor. He also pitches for just enough mana to Eternal Scourge. :)

meowndabout I have been trialing Mindcensor in that slot as well, but then 2W does feel quite clunky to me, and I tend to want to make other plays instead of holding it up and casting it. I'm quite happy to be cutting the bear slot altogether.

ShaperSavant Just saying, I nearly won a game on Friday without any lands with the $1000 variation against a combo Gitrog, competitive Breya, competitive Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain and some fourth deck, I think it was Ob Nixilis. Good lord this deck is impressive. In the end someone Bane of Progressed, but I still went on to kill everyone but the Ob 'cause I had to go with Halimar Excavator and they had Kozilek so I had to give him another turn and unfortunately he'd of been able to pull something off.

Is Squee the only change you're thinking of right now, and if so what're the hypothetical changes you're thinking about making to slot him (and I suppose any land changes needed) in?
