aka ballin' on a budget
aka the unpredictable Gruul
My goals for making this deck were:
To use mechanics that no one in my group was really using - like bloodrush - that way they weren't prepared for me
To make use of a bunch of awesome R/G cards that I had that weren't really seeing play.
To make a deck that was cheap in both cards costs and average CMC
To make a deck that worked fast - they're taking damage before they can even begin to think of how to deal with it
Wandering Wolf
- with some of the cheap buffs I have, this guy will get really big. Play him turn 2, then turn three use a Titanic Growth on him? Hello 6 unblockable damage turn 3!
Hammerhand
for when you just can't wait to deal your damage
Respite and Fog cause it's just way too much fun to deny people combat damage
Wrecking Ogre
one of the higher casting cost cards in the deck, but I'd say the double strike makes him worth it
another high casting cost but with trample and the potential to destroy at least one annoying creature, this card is worth it. Plus the artwork is hilarious.
Archetype of Endurance no one ever expects this one cause it's so expensive, but hexproof can be awesome in this deck. So can the ability to take their hexproof away.
Rogue's Passage if the game lasts long enough to where you have 4 mana to spare this can be a good one.
Lead the Stampede creatures are what I need in this deck more than anything, and this helps me get them.
Terrifying Presence
use it while blocking to destroy their creatures and keep yours, or play it after they declare blockers and watch their creatures die will yours lives.
Borderland Marauder one of my favorite red cards from M15. That extra 2 damage early game makes her a good one.
Decimate some good old fashioned Gruul destruction. Destroy 4 things for 4 mana? Now that's a bargain.
Madcap Skills get this is early game for a whole bunch of free damage.
Skylasher
between this guy and the bloodrush creatures, blue players are gonna have some trouble with this deck.
Feel free to leave your suggestions! As you can tell from the extensive maybe board, I have no idea where I'm going with this deck!
