I was trying to keep it more red than black to give it some originality I mean almost EVERY vampire deck is black but, Captivating Vampire is a good choice what would you recommend taking out for it?

I have no clue. Maybe take out a Falkenrath Exterminator? Also, this makes me want to rebuild my Vampire deck...

Olivia Voldaren is pretty good, you could also use Vampire Hexmage for sideboard to deal with planeswalkers. A good two drop is Bloodghast .Last i believe Basilisk Collar works good in this deck.

Thanks for the feedback! I just haven't been able to get my hands on an Olivia Voldaren or she would be in here in a heartbeat... (Vampire Pun?). I do think Bloodghast is pretty good what should I take out? I really don't like Basilisk Collar, I don't know why so I'l be okay without it,

Also, I would suggest Curse of Stalked Prey . Helps you get those +1 +1 counters.

I would add Olivia Voldaren because she's probably the best vampire ever printed. Nice deck +1 :)

I'm surprised you're not running 4 Nighthawks. He's probably one of the best cards printed.

Cobbled Wings and/or Executioner's Hood can make it somewhat easier to hit your opponent.

LtMiller117: It's all the nighthawks I own, and I don't feel like buying 'em

DaitokujiAmnael The only reason I don't run those is because it seriously slows down play and in my meta you need to be able to pull it out ny turn 4, and those cards are just too mana intensive, Thanks for the feedback though!

With a decent chunk of red cards, how often is Vampire Nocturus going active?

November 27, 2014 6:41 p.m.

SilentChibi says... #16

All thing considered he'll be active a good 38%~52% of the time which is still a very high rate of him going active. In a 61 card deck all based on random probability. However it isn't just the red cards that need to be taken into account it is also the lands, and non-creature cards. Which are Vital to the deck. Well maybe not so much Blade of the Bloodchief. Now if you were to play a 61 card deck. With 24 lands and only vampires in it you'd probably be looking at about a 48%~62% rate of being active. But that is with all lands and vampires.

When you are all said and done Vampire Nocturnus should be active about 32%~54% of the time dependent on your draws. So since everything is relying on luck and other variables a 40% active rate is very good.
