Basically, the main thing in this deck is sacrificial. Not only do you gain certain effects when you sacrifice the creatures, for example, Dawntreader Elk, you get them to the graveyard to fuel the bigger cards like Splinterfright and Jarad. Even though Golgari's use Scavenge, this deck doesn't have many Scavenge cards, simply because you NEED to keep the cards in the graveyard in order for it to work. Witchbane Orb is in the maybe board so your opponents won't use a card such as Tormond's Crypt to exile your graveyard, since Ground Seal doesn't protect your graveyard from Tormond's Crypt.

As a side note, this deck is great against Dimir decks xD
