Commander / EDH Convoke RUW (Jeskai, America) Tap/Untap Tokens

AlexValravn

To Arms! The revolutionary leaders Saint Traft and Rem Karolus are convoking the forces in the Invasion of Segovia

The idea and aesthetic behind the inspiration of this deck are to recreate the greatest revolutions of our times. To fight with tactics, trying to outnumber your opponents, and waiting for your brothers and sisters-in-arms, even those who died and return to the battlefield as angels or spirits, to strike the death blow.

This Jeskai deck is focused on the creation of tokens thanks to the tap/untap mechanic of its commander Saint Traft and Rem Karolus. As the text of the card reads, every time that your commander is tapped in the same turn, you will create a Human 1/1 R the first time, a Spirit 1/1 U the second, and an Angel 4/4 W the third time! The commander in this army is a leader who inspires others in going to combat so you should only will using it for token creation.

But... how do tap or untap our commander? As you guessed, tapping Saint Traft and Rem Karolus for combat should be your last resource, so we need other options and one of them is also in the text of our commander: to cast "Convoke" spells. Each time you cast a convoke spell you will be using Saint Traft and Rem Karolus to convoke and therefore, tap it for one of the color mana shared with the spell, and then untap it as the spell resolves. The deck is full of convoke spells of different types so this part will be easy and at least you will make one or two creature tokens each turn. And remember, each creature token will be used to cast more convoke spells. And the most important part: creature tokens can be tapped for convoke spells the same turn they entered the battlefield because the convoke is not an ability of the token, the token is tapped because the spell has the convoke ability! So... Anointed Procession and Mondrak, Glory Dominus are a must-include in this deck. The potential to create 4 tokens of each type that your commander can produce is powerful, very powerful. Also... Nesting Dovehawk.

However, this engine could fail in the first turns of the game, so that's the reason to include powerful cards like To Arms!, Jeskai Ascendancy, Village Bell-Ringer, White Plume Adventurer, Halo Fountain, and this two Planeswalker: Ral Zarek and Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset.

Ok... some of that cards are 3-4 CMC cards, but what about convoking them? Flockchaser Phantom is your card. Or what about the Invasion of Segovia   and the two 1/1 blue Krakens that will help to defeat the battle thanks to the combo between City on Fire + Stoke the Flames , and therefore giving you a Caetus, Sea Tyrant of Segovia  .

Now that we know how to make our little squad each turn, let's make some noise. The possibility of card advantage in this deck is insane: Kasla, the Broken Halo, Bennie Bracks, Zoologist, Fallowsage, Mentor of the Meek, Transcendent Message, Meeting of Minds, Whirlwind of Thought... and the cards that you will draw are committed to making your army bigger and bigger while Suture Priest makes the life of your resistance last more. Grand Crescendo, Secure the Wastes and Call the Coppercoats are the fast way to fill your board.

Finally, it is time to fight our revolution with your army of tokens. And the front line is led by Neyali, Suns' Vanguard, and protected by the Chant of Vitu-Ghazi, and Clever Concealment.

Last, but not least, the threat to your opponents' board will be constant. Elspeth, Sun's Champion makes everything this deck wants. But Hour of Reckoning, Austere Command, and Impact Tremors will assure you that only your creatures last.

Enjoy the revolution!
