Sideboard

Maybeboard

The taped together Kitsune deck got a little refurbished. At first it was meant to only use Samurai's and Foxes but as always, things change.

The deck is meant to lock down your opponent while you gain supremacy and eventually beat your way across the board or sneak your way across using protection, which of course is why Eight-and-a-Half-Tails is an all-star card in this deck since that's what he loves doing. The deck itself seems to have a reasonable bounce back quality since the Emeria, The Sky Ruin, Sun Titan and Elspeth, Knight-Errant exists in the deck, while of course the control enchantments will probably stick around. I've noticed against black decks or decks running a fair amount of black get really messed up by the creatures with natural protection from black, that is to say I've noticed most of the black removal spells people use cannot target them. This is probably the next deck I will want to do or rather to own the physical cards for. I'm also considering including a Leyline of Sanctity to protect myself against burn decks or target player discard and all that.

The Sideboard:

The Sideboard is quite simple; I haven't decided which I like better, Brave the Elements or Mana Tithe just yet but both would be 2 in the main deck and 2 in the sideboard in case I need more control or protection in either case. There is another Ghostly Prison in case I am against a deck running a ton of creatures; the Hallow 's are there to gain back some life against a Burn deck, who doesn't love a "Healing-ball" instead of a Fireball coming at you; Ratchet Bomb doesn't really affect me at no counters or 1 counter and it is there to act as my token spam protection or weenie spam coming at me or even perhaps, a ton of low cost cards being played; Revoke Existence is useful against a deck featuring an array of enchantments or artifacts or simply a counter against a real annoying card of those types; the Samurai of the Pale Curtain was retained from the previous build this deck was - a ton of Kitsunes - but it is a very useful card to side in against a deck the abuses the graveyard, I've yet to test the deck against a good mill deck too; there is another Story Circle to help against a big creature beatdown, even if its colourless I might still be able to use the Distorting Lens or Eight-and-a-Half-Tails to change their colour and finally a few Timely Reinforcements which I took firstly for that gorgeous art, but also because if I am against a really aggressive build it can gain me board presence and time to set up a blockade, it pairs up nicely with the Martyr of Sands lifegain to keep me at a fairly large life total, I was quite impressed with the lifegain the Martyr can pull off.

Tell me what you think and of course this is still a work in progress. Help with the sideboard and card ratios is always appreciated.

EDIT:

Removed a Journey to Nowhere and replaced it with a great piece i forgot to include, a Distorting Lens, which has synergy with the colour manipulation.

Removed the Mana Tithe's to see if Brave the Elements fits in better.

Removed Celestial Crusader as he seemed to add little to the actual deck and replaced him with another Faith's Fetters.
