This is the deck I use in standard, it's fun, it gets pretty scary, and it always preforms fairly well :D.
How to play it is pretty simple:
-buff your creatures, don't be afraid to feed Nivmagus Elemental
-get the blockers out of the way, there's lots of way to do this.
-hit the opponent for huge amounts of damage in one big swing.
IMPORTANT INTERACTIONS, reasons the deck works.
-even if Nivmagus Elemental exiles your spell, it still is cast, so it triggers Nivix Cyclops and such.
-A creature with double strike will trigger cypher cards twice, buffing your creature in between the 1st and 2nd strikes, Nivmagus Elemental can also exile spells in between strikes.
-even if one of your spells is countered, it will still trigger Nivix Cyclops and
Fluxcharger
; also, Nivmagus Elemental can still exile it in response.
-any 2 instants or sorceries +Armed / Dangerous will make Nivix Cyclops swing for lethal.
-
Fluxcharger
+Armed / Dangerous does 12 damage, that is a great way to end games.
-Your creature is buffed before Fall of the Hammer resolves, so you do more damage to their creature.
-
Fluxcharger
will be a 6/1 instead of 5/2 when you use Mizzium Skin on him. this is because power/toughness switches always happen last, regardless of timestamp.
-you can win on turn 2 if you go second and have Blistercoil Weird+4Hidden Strings+Armed / Dangerous+Shock, that does exactly 20 damage, although this almost never happens.
This deck's best match up is against agro, i have plenty of cheap removal spells, and
Hands of Binding
locks down big creatures as well.
This deck's worse matchup is against control, which is why my sideboard is mostly geared towards control decks.
