What's the reason for Underworld Connections over Read the Bones ? It's really a lot slower, requires more mana and is unreliable. I understand it in a devotion deck but not so much here.

@ChiefBell I used to run Read the Bones , but this deck aims to win in the long game (that is, if I don't land an uncontested Pack Rat ), and I believe that having a reusable draw engine rather than a single-use draw spell with more selection is better in the long game. Also, Underworld Connections greatly improves my matchup against control decks, something I was having a problem with at first. I'll put Read the Bones back in the maybeboard and I'll probably test it again. Thanks for the suggestion!

I run a very similar deck but mine has an aggressive playstyle with midrange in mind. Rak Dem Dos.

is there anything that can take the place of mutavault and pack rat? i want to make this deck but i dont want to spend 100$ for land that rotates out in a month lol

@jdnorris96 Rotation isn't until October 6, but Mutavault can be replaced with 2 Swamp and 2 Mountain. Pack Rat is harder to replace, but I could see replacing it with Lifebane Zombie , which is pretty good in the meta right now since Jund Monsters is so big.

However, if you're worried about rotation, this deck really isn't the deck to build right now. Its best cards all leave with rotation.
