@Homelessguy, SynergyBuild, and Aiding - Made some more changes to both the deck and the list formatting...what do you think of the deck changes. I think it is easier to read this way as it shows the primary function of each card.

Hey, I honestly don't understand what you guys are talking about, but I like the new format!

SynergyBuild you told me It was douchy to put my deck link in the comment section. And yes, I love what you've done with the deck, it has definitely evolved since you've introduced it to us!

Oh, it took me like waaaaay too long to figure out how this worked, I apologize for my incompetence at reading comments xD
When did Scytec comment a decklist in this comment section? Also this is his deck, so he could do that. You just posted a rat tribal list that had no reason to be here and nothing to do with this deck in the comments, and just told us to go there, that was why I called it douchy.

Also The Rat deck is so Scytec can take a look at it, because he's is looking for a comp deck. So with these suggestions and promotions he is able to get ideas. And put it into his own home brew if he decides to.

Oh, I would normally just post something like that on Scytec's page, instead of this one.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, I honestly was both confused, and didn't mean any of this with any tone of sarcasm at all, though I understand on the internet it is hard to show that, I apologize.

If this discussion is over I'm gonna clean up my comments so they are relevant to the deck. Haha. Anything need to be said before I do so?

Sure, fine by me! Apologies for the off-topic comments!

One card you may want is Greater Good.
It both draws and mills. With battlebond, it went from a 10-12$ card to maybe $4. Totally something to look at!
Hermit Druid also is amazing self mill. It does make people think you are doing scary combo things if they know the card, but it always gets a land and mills a LOT (if you run a kinda low amount of basics like me)
July 23, 2018 9:36 a.m.
Aiding - I run 19 basics, so Hermit Druid is a no go here for me...far to inconsistant. Greater Good looks phenomenal though. That I need to get.
July 23, 2018 10:08 a.m.
Actually, because I run that many basics, Hermit Druid may be ok here...ill give him a try. Thanks Aiding!

Well, depending on how "good" at milling you want Mr. druid to be, you can always add Woodland Cemetery, Dakmor Salvage (which also mills if it gets in the graveyard), Barren Moor, Bojuka Bog, and Tranquil Thicket. You then could get more draw with The Gitrog Monster and Ramunap Excavator. Depending on how "graveyard focused" you want the deck to be.
Personally, I would add the cycling lands before adding the dual tap lands that do nothing on entry. Losing a little speed early game for a late game draw is very good in slow games. Also would add something like a Temple of Malady before them as well.

Nah, by using the five color lands (City of Brass, Mana Confluence, Forbidden Orchard, Tarnished Citadel, Exotic Orchard, and Reflecting Pool), along with fetchlands, you can build up a fast (low to no tapped lands), consistent (at getting your colors), and no-basic landbase for Hermit Druid to deck you.
Bring back Dregscape Zombie and Bloodghast, sacrifice them to Dread Return, bring back Necrotic Ooze, then use Wall of Roots's ability to activate Blighted Bat's, then make infinite mana between Devoted Druid and Channeler Initiate, then use Walking Ballista to instantly win the game!
Whoops... got a bit too into Hermit Nooze... I'l leave now.

While I do love the hermit druid combo...do y'all really think it is necessary here? Also, isn't it pretty fragile to destruction and counters? I suppose even then I could just recur them via meren and win on end step given they are all activated abilities...hmm...without blue, how would I otherwise protect my combo? I doubt Dash Hopes is going to serve the same purpose. Haha.

Well, Krosan Reclamation and Riftsweeper add a ton of protection for it, the worst thing is to counter the Dread Return, removal rarely matters, as the combo is fully instant speed. The hardest thing is if the remove Necrotic Ooze in response to the Blighted Bat trigger, in which you have to just activate it again for an extra mana to keep comboing out, if they do it in response to a Devoted Druid untap (the only other time), you need to just untap it in response, you can only do this one extra time though, or else it will die, so if they have two removal spells, it can hurt, but with Walking Ballista in the yard, you can respond with a +1/+1 counter if you have 4 mana open, and at that point you will have to at least netted one mana, so you only need 3 extra.
This means removal blanks against the combo almost every time. If they counter the Dread Return, Krosan Reclamation back Riftsweeper and Sensei's Divining Top. Remember, on endstep with Meren, you can toolbox your deck to go off again if you have at least 4 experience counters, or wait until your turn, if you draw Sensei's Divining Top, draw the Riftsweeper, to return Dread Return or Krosan Reclamation, and either go off when possible, use Meren to grind out a win, or bing back a Viscera Seer, so you can sacrifice Riftsweeper, after first shuffling in the Krosan Reclamation, and repeatedly shuffle in 4 cards from your graveyard into your library, and rebuild. This loop is extremely consistent.
Honestly, Hermit Druid is super consistent at protecting itself from most kinds of hate, that Riftsweeper loop even gets around most forms of graveyard hate! If you are still scared Autumn's Veil and Xantid Swarm can help out!

I understand the combo itself, that is moderately straightforward, but I'm going to have to study each piece on the stack to see where I am vulnerable and how to protect it. Would you mind answering some questions if I have any?

No problem, I would love too. Since out of the 7 abilities, 3 are mana abilities, only 4 can be responded too.

@Goronagar, way2fast91, Homelessguy, bwanabeast5, Aiding, and SynergyBuild - Hell of an overhaul, picked up some things at the SCG Dallas Open, and finally got around to making my changes online. Honestly at this point I think I just need some more efficient Sacrifice outlets and Self-Mill cards, though I would take any and all suggestions. Haha. Is there any cards I am missing that seem obvious here? At this point it plays quite well. I'd like some addition Dictate of Erebos style effects, but honestly I wouldn't know where to slot them in. I think Grave Pact was actually the original? I was also thinking about picking up two or 3 Entomb style effects to speed up my Mikaeus Combo. Thoughts and suggestions there? If you have a little free time I'd love you to take a second and look through the list for upgrades. Thank y'all very much. If you have any decks you'd like me to take a look at, I'd be happy to help, just drop a link on my wall or tag me on the list. Have a great one!

Oh wow looking great!
If you're looking for something to feed your graveyard Maybe Deadbridge Chant or even Bitter Ordeal.
August 26, 2018 7:20 p.m.
@Homelessguy - Deadbridge Chant looks excellent, unfortunately it is CMC 6 and that is very high for a card I won't eventually be able to cheat into play. Id also like something that is cheaper so I can begin milling in the early game. Bitter Ordeal seems like some excellent side board tech for my meta, but it won't self mill because it exiles, and I need things to go into my graveyard. Haha. Thanks for the suggestions though!!
