That's a possiblitiy for now. trying to keep all my mana costs as low as possible for all cards. I'll have to try and see which one works better
October 31, 2012 10:10 p.m.
I'd drop Thatcher Revolt and Thunderous Wrath for +1 Ash Zealot and 4x Rakdos Shred-Freak . I haven't had the best luck with miracle cards and find myself loathing them all except Terminus
November 4, 2012 2:54 p.m.
I agree, drop Thatcher Revolt . Ash Zealot deserves four slots. Other than that, looks a lot like my standard deck right now. +1

the only reason that Thatcher Revolt is used here is because field wipe is really popular. with the testing i've had on here (not to say its the best way to test it), it seems pretty consistant. If it decides not to work for me, i"ll make the change. I dropped one in favor of an additional Ash Zealot so maybe that will make a difference

needs Thundermaw Hellkite and Rakdos Shred-Freak . Thatcher Revolt is terrible. 3 mana sorcery potential Lightning Bolt ?i run this with a black splash for Falkenrath Aristocrat and Bump in the Night

Thundermaw Hellkite will only be sideboard for late game presence if needed. also i would rather have the revolt over Rakdos Shred-Freak . Personally, I dont't care for the shred-freak since Ash Zealot is a better 2 drop. The revolt is there for working with my Hellrider since cards like Terminus are very prevalent in the meta. I would splash black for the aristocrat, but then it would no longer be RDW would it?
November 19, 2012 5:31 p.m.
no need to splash black. I ran Shwing Shwing and destroyed its debut. shred freaks work great, but most people prefer Lightning Mauler . I don't have love for Thatcher Revolt because they dissapate...a 3 drop for 3 damage is meh.

I'd splash black for Bump in the Night and Falkenrath Aristocrat , then you could sacrifice those Thatcher Revolt humans to pump up the aristocrat.

Drop the two Thunderbolt s and the two Thatcher Revolt s for amount of possibilities for good options, such as Stonewright , Annihilating Fire , or Rakdos Shred-Freak

I like how cheap and quick all your creatures are however because the only creatures you have that don't have haste are your one drops the two Lightning Mauler s might not be needed. I find Stonewright or Pyreheart Wolf might be more beneficial.
November 29, 2012 11:49 p.m.
Drop Thunderous Wrath and 1 Vexing Devil for 3 Pyreheart Wolf ...very fun if you bond haste onto it and gives you two swings in which you usually win
November 29, 2012 11:56 p.m.
I would definitly add some Pyreheart Wolf ... it's a very useful card and it has undying to so it's a must have in each mono-red deck!
maybe you should take a look at the deck I'm currently running: I'm Batman! Shhhh!!!But nice deck... +1

You don't have a large enough creature density for Hellrider , Vexing Devil doesn't count, and it's not that great either... Play more 2 drops and all the Pyreheart Wolf (ve)s
You aren't optimizing Bonfire of the Damned with 21 land. In a 21 land build you aim to win the turn you play Hellrider. Mizzium Mortars similarly inefficient, but fine. Thunderous Wrath is questionable, chance shouldn't be your game plan. Pillar of Flame and Searing Spear are where you want to be here.
I recommend a core of Rakdos Cackler , Stromkirk Noble , Ash Zealot , Gore-House Chainwalker , Pyreheart Wolf , and Hellrider , with at least 21 lands. It's a good place to start, and you can fit whatever you want around it.

What Toddington said. Also consider Stonewright and Lightning Mauler

Not making a deck like all the other RDW. Gore-House Chainwalker blows in my opinion. Much better things to put in his spot. Vexing Devil is underrated here since he's a low CMC creature (or burn spell). Lightning Mauler has seen his time and removed for Pyreheart Wolf . THIS WON'T BE A META DECK SO NO META DECK SUGGESTIONS PLEASE. I homebrew and will only do so to prove that creativity is better than copy-paste decks

Ha fair enough, but there's a reason why meta decks emerge, they are the optimized, tested build. You want people to suggest the bad cards that don't see any play?
You say there's better things to put in the 2CMC slot, so do it! My point about Hellrider creature density stands, it has nothing to do with meta.

Wizard of the Damned says... #20
I understand the point about Hellrider and i do believe i have filled the spot that Gore-House Chainwalker would have sucked up. I also understand the whole thing about pro decks tested, this and that, but whats the point of playing if the only thing played is what someone other than yourself made? If it was the same, there would be no point in posting since there would be hundreds (or thousands) just like it on the net. I've done fairly well with most decks I've made and they have stood with many of the meta decks. Even if i don't always win, I would rather lose with my own idea than a win with someone esle's

Thou is correct as to use the hellish dragon but this wizard has a strong love of mead and games of chance so he has no gold to line his pockets

more Thunderous Wrath !! Send the wenches to hell with your twister of fury!!!!

Very similar to my deck. My only suggestion is to play Reckless Waif Flip over Vexing Devil . Creature heavy RDW is the best version of RDW in the current standard, so you want a board presence, which Vexing Devil does not give you.
Reckless Waif puts a lot of pressure on your opponents. So many people are playing shocks right now that they often don't have a turn 1. Swinging with a 3/2 and potentially a 2/2 in Ash Zealot sounds pretty great to me, and even if they do have to pay life to play a shock, that helps you too.

Thou wenches burn to my mighty bonfires! I summon forth my devil of hell over thy werewolf because if thine opponent does not banish thy devil, a 4/3 along with my zealous warrior can swing for 6 instead of 5

Drop Thunderbolt . It's very narrow.
I'd just run Annihilating Fire over it.
