If you didn't care about price, Sword of Body and Mind :)

I was going to use the Sword, until I realized that it doesn't work with the Alchemist. Since there's no combat damage dealt, the mill trigger never occurs. It's too bad... that would have been a perfect card.

Sword of Body and Mind here would be good on a non-zombie creature, to mill creature cards and get 2/2 zombies. Also, Curse of the Bloody Tome is great here.

+1 just because you saw why not to put Geth in here. :)
I'm not a big fan of the Cellar Door because it seems pretty slow, even if it can give you two zombies.
Against creature heavy decks you're likely to get an army out of your normal tactic anyways, and against something like Burning Vengeance , you're unlikely to get any tokens out of it.
Try replacing with another Jace, if you can fish one up, and a pair of Stitched Drake . Otherwise, 3 drakes is always nice. In my experience the evasion on the drake makes a lot more happen than an army of ground soldiers, especially if you can get a blade on it.
Please look at my deck:budget-extractor and tell me what you think.

+1-ing for the name. THATS THE ONLY REASON.
also, the deck is pretty good.

Thanks, everyone! I removed two Cellar Door and the Walking Corpse for a Curse of the Bloody Tome and a pair of Stitched Drake . My friend also pointed out that I wouldn't want more than one Nephalia Drownyard out at a time, so I cut down on those as well. I don't have many of the cards to make this a real deck, but I'm still trying to keep it mostly budget in case I can build it eventually. I really appreciate all the feedback!

Actually, after I thought about it, I switched out the Tome Curse for another Forbidden Alchemy to help enable my skaabs (and for some nice flavor). If I find anything else to eliminate, the Bloody tomes will definitely come back in.

+1. More Jace would help, Dream Twist is useful too.

I'd say -1 Nephalia Drownyard , -1 Skaab Goliath , and +2 Cemetery Reaper . 1. You can run pretty well with 23 lands and just one drownyard. 2. You probably wouldn't want to exile a creature from your graveyard and pay the mana cost for the goliath. The reaper can manipulate your graveyard too and it's an instant speed ability, plus it pumps everyone else, including Stitched Drake . More mill/damage depending on Alchemist. +1 Nice deck.

If I were you, I would put in Mind Funeral and if you have the money, some Twincast s, since twincast works with almost everything. of course, then you would have to take in to account stuff like Lich Lord of Unx and if you can get the cards, some unblockable zombies in there for definite damage. I think I will make a deck like that. Ill keep you posted on any new ideas I get for this.

So, what say you? Standard playable? Anything I should change to make it so?
January 3, 2012 12:29 p.m.
nope i was just telling 8bitmadness cos he is suggesting non standards for you~ anyway nice idea!~ and i had already +1~~~

January 4, 2012 2:54 p.m.

+1... Promise fulfilled.
Anyway, I would put in Cemetery Reaper . No, it's unlikely there'll be an ENORMOUS amount of creatures in your opponent's graveyard, but there would still be the NORMAL amount of creatures there, the ones that died of combat. And you'll undoubtably have a couple creatures in your graveyard. Furthermore... He's a fairly priced lord!! He pumps all your zombies, and for mana comparable to Mayor of Avabruck Flip Flip, the best lord ever made! (IMO, and I'm weird, so...)
Anyhoo. Cheers!

I'm trying to build a similar deck and I'm having trouble with pacing. What does your normal turn two and three look like most of the time?

Actually, I was noticing his mana curve has next to nothing in the two-drop zone. Perhaps add in some Mana Leak or something? I mean, Walking Corpse would make more sense, but we've already discarded him.
January 7, 2012 3:33 p.m.
Unfortunately, I don't actually have this physical deck, so I couldn't tell you. I'd say maybe more Diregraf Ghoul s and 1-drops? You can always add some Walking Corpse s to the deck if you need to. IMO, always cast a turn-three Trepanation Blade if you can. Otherwise, I'd Forbidden Alchemy to get your Alchemist next turn. This is speculation, but I hope it helps!

Drop the walking corpse and add maybe a MindShrieker or a few Curse of the Bloody Tomes.
