p.s. the Conspiracy lets you abuse tribal stuff like Descendants' Path or Alpha Status quite nicely!

I've been thinking Golgari Germination too, that combined with Fecundity would give creatures insane value. Thallid died? Draw a card and have a saproling! Saproling died? Don't worry, have a card!

Just can't decide what to cut. Most cards in the deck are just so derp jank but they all have sentimental value or are just too cool in their own way. :D

Small updates and utility lands added.

Also, rant of the day. Why on earth is Silvos an elemental? Just look at those two guys, how can they not be related? :(

With that said, I expect to see Silvos, Rogue Fungus in Theros, Thelon demands it!

Fangorian, me and my friends got kind of the same bug about the same time last year and we created a similar format called Dollar General. Here's the link if you're interested.

Dollar General Stipulations

There are some fundamental differences, because it eliminates some but not all the power-creep that yours does. Infinite combos are still a thing, I guess. Also, we use the lowest price calculator, which doesn't look like it shifts the power dynamic much either, based on looking at your list.

Anyway, really like the deck. Seems pretty cool. Glad to see someone reppin' a solid Thelon deck.

Now with m14, you can maybe throw in a Scavenging Ooze ? it is a little more pricey, but got some nice synergy with a few cards in the deck :)

Yeah, I've been drooling after Scavenging Ooze for long time. Only thing that kept it away was the price-tag. :D

Hopefully it's getting a bit cheaper now, added it to the deck but TappedOut doesn't currently have any price for it. If Im exceeding my budget limit I propably have to change Parallel Lives to Golgari Germination .

Seems they are about $12 each, so pretty pricey :/

Not sure how on-theme this is, but maybe Mwonvuli Acid-Moss ? Abrupt Decay could be good too but costs a few bucks.

Ah yes, good call with Mwonvuli Acid-Moss , I had almost forgotten that. Card actually has one of my favourite flavor texts.

Abrupt Decay might be a bit too pricey at the moment, TappedOut shows about 8.2$. Have to wait untill TappedOut updates the price for Scavenging Ooze so I know close of the budget limit I am.

Also, as much as I love Worm Harvest , I replaced it with Golgari Germination . Saprolings fit the theme better and thallids love dem sapro'snacks! And why are saprolings only creature type without real creature cards of their own (If you don't count Marit Lage)?

Looks like Scavenging Ooze is still a bit too expensive for the deck's budget. For the moment it has to settle for a maybeboard spot. Replacement shall be Mwonvuli Ooze untill new and better fungus/oozes are printed (Never realized before that Mwonvuli is an actual place in Dominaria, there are 3 different "Mwonvuli" cards).

Since budget limit ain't problem right now, I replaced Smallpox with Abrupt Decay , a perfect fit for the deck's theme.

Life and Limb for game breaking hilarity by way of Sporemound

love your theme idea. I do this in my group also, having over 4k in cards from revised to current helps also. I'd love your comments on my Death cloud with a chance of rats

Thanks for all the comments and such!

Combo with Sporemound and Life and Limb could be fun, 'suddenly the world turned green'. Too bad there's nothing in the deck that can stop it so I can't abuse them to gain infinite tokens and win (tho' infi-combos are against our theme/budget rules), some people might get angry if the game is a draw. :D

should throw a Door of Destinies in there

September 1, 2013 1:10 a.m.

Fangorian says... #21

Door of Destinies sure is pretty good card for token decks but I'm trying to keep amount of artifacts in the deck at minimum (since they are not natural and don't fit the theme well). Only reason I still have Druidic Satchel is because Thelon is Creature - Elf Druid. :)

Other updates: Decided to give Worm Harvest another chance, mostly because I just saw new november FNM promo of Grisly Salvage which has just incredible art and might get a spot in the deck later on. Both G. Salvage and Drown in Filth put cards in the graveyard and that is something that can benefit both Thelon of Havenwood and Worm Harvest . Also, cycling lands; card draw AND worm food in one healthy lump of dirt!
