Also, what's up with the 4 Ornithopter in the sideboard? Just curious.

Why play Furnace Whelp when you have access to Thunderbreak Regent

I may take out Furnace Whelp for Thunderbreak regent, once I get 2 more Thunderbreaks:)

I would try a 1-of Soulflayer. It has good synergy with all of your hasty fliers and can lead to playing two in the same turn.

Soulflayer. That is inspired. as often as some of my fliers get hated away, Having it in there just makes me smile

I love this type of deck and am actually thinking about making one kinda like this for a PTQ I'm planning on going to. This deck can get destroyed by a few things though, one of them being a well timed Hornet Queen. I would recommend running a few Arc Lightning's or Wild Slash's in the sideboard. I'm not sure how I feel about the Generator Servant's. You already have haste on most of your big creatures and you have a lot of psudo-ramp cards for dragons like Dragonlord's Servant and Haven of the Spirit Dragon.
Dark Deal is just generally not a very good card and running Erebos in your sideboard just to counter life-gain decks (like Whip of Erebos decks) is kinda inefficient as you would be paying 4 mana to only semi-counter something that costs 4 mana. I would rather run Duress in my sidebord and side them in when going against whip decks.
Also play around with the idea of running Goblin Rabblemaster for some early game pressure or just more removal so you can stall until you get your dragons out.
Those are my opinions, take em or leave em; but just to let you know I'm planning on playing a variation of this deck and what I just talked about in a PTQ coming up. So ill get back to you on how it does.
Thanks for reading this to the end!

Also I love the Soulflayer addition. That is a great idea and I would have never thought of that.

I do not have Rabblemasters, oddly enough. I am trying to learn to play without them, since they will rotate out soon.Generator servant is my hate bait. At my LGS, those get hated out, if they don't, I get to cast any of my spells sooner and cheaper. I love turn 3 Stormbreath dragon or Kolaghan. :)Dark deal is a typo.. lol. I mean the one Mana, destroy a black creature card, Dark Betrayal. I didn't notice that until now. Thanks! Ill fix

No rabblemaster is m15 not in the theros block so he wont rotate, you still have About a year

M15 is rotating out with Theros in October.
M15 is standard legal from July 18, 2014 through release date of the set Battle for Zendikar, presently set for release on Oct 2 2015.

I would really run some hand removal, some combination of Thoughtseize, Duress, etc. Personally I would try it in the main, but at the very least in the SB.
You could also try 1 or 2 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker in the SB as they are very good against control. They pretty much have to counter it or you get at least one good smack in, and after that Hero's Downfall is your really only big fear (besides getting hit by a big creatures).
It looks like in your current build you could get smashed by aggro, so you might want to consider more Anger of the Gods / Drown in Sorrow. 3x Dark Betrayal is a bit of an overkill in my opinion unless monoblack devotion somehow makes a comeback.
I would also replace one of the Erebos, God of the Dead with a Liliana Vess. Put them both in against lifegain decks and you can still tutor for Erebos, plus then Liliana would be good against other things, particularly control.

dark betrayal works against any creature with black in it, not just monoblack. They have saved my butt at times during game 2. I look at what people are practicing with ahead of game start time and adjust mainboard a bit to try to match what I am going against.
I took Sarkhan out a while ago, as he just wasn't doing the work

Obviously...it all depends on your meta. There's a strong showing of red and/or green decks in mine, and Dark Betrayal would really only work well against Abzan.

Yep, min has a lot of siege Rhino and Rakshasa Death dealer. Lots of (insert color here) and black. there is the fair share of blue white, blue white herioic, red blue heroic, Red agro, but I can deal with those mostly. I may load up on despise and Duress, and mix match after I see how my latest iteration does tomorrow. I only have one thoughtsieze. I have liked the idea of getting rid of the treat before it is cast.
My favorite thing to do lately is when they Cast a Silumgar the drifting death and think he is safely resolved, only to get Foul-Tongued away, usually since he is their only creature besides pearl lake ancient, and the ancient isn't out yet :)

Makes sense. It will be interesting to see if Foul-Tongue Invocation sees a lot of play. It reminds me of Devour Flesh with an upside (and a downside, since you need a dragon for optimal usage), although being 3 CMC may limit it a bit.

I would play Bloodfell Caves over Nomad Outpost. The mana is the same, but the lifegain is better.

nomad outpost adds white as well, which is splashed for some of my sideboard cards. The lifegain was inconsequential. I was running 4 bloodfell caves before tonight.
Need the ability to get rid of enchantments and artifacts in my meta during certain matchups.

Draconic Roar is way better then lightening strike in this deck.
May 16, 2015 1:39 p.m.
martyllian says... #25
I have considered Draconic Roar. lightning strike has helped me out when I have had a series of bad draws/against control that normally doesn't have a critter on the field to target. I need to get myself out of the mindset of not liking to have a condition to smack an opponent in the face with a spell
Definitely_Paying_Attention says... #1
Take out Crux of Fate and Furnace Whelp. Even though Crux doesn't hit Kolaghan, it's slow and counterproductive for an aggro deck like this one. Replace the Whelp and Mardu Heart-Piercer with the new and much more efficient Zurgo Bellstriker and or Lightning Berserker when they come out on the 27th (http://mythicspoiler.com/).
