I just won 5 packs by t4ing a Sunday tournament with the ol' list. It was a good day, beat two naya decks badly, and then got a cheap win on a guy who didn't have a real deck built.
Lost to Dega(Mardu) midrange in a close game. Master of the Feast is a tough card, and I was a turn away from stabilizing with phalanx leader, a dragon mantle soldier of the pantheon, and a Fiendslayer paladin out. But, he used generator servant to cheat out a SECOND feast master to hit me for 10 and end the game before I had a chance to attack with fiendslayer and use tricks to buff/lifegain. Don't know if I could have beaten that.
Its tough when those decks pack on the removal, and his deck is loaded with things to shut mine down. Siding in magma spray and nyx fleece ram hurts, I had to spend mana to pump my soldier of the pantheon with dragon mantle to kill it on turn 3. He has nice protection from boros reckoner, so in that case madcap skills probably could have easily won me that game.
However, I won't swap out dragon mantle when in many cases it works much better for how the deck is supposed to play. I might side it in against midrange decks like that one, as they honestly present the biggest challenge and I'm still learning how to play around them.
The generator servant makes that deck a lot more formidable, as i was able to dispatch him before his threats came online in previous matchups.
This was also my first standard tournament in well over a month, so having that match g1 was tough. On another note, siding in Lagonna band trailblazer for g2 was a rousing success, that card is soooo much better than I gave it credit for when you slap a dragon mantle on it and/or trigger it a few times. A beast card that burn decks hate to see.
