This deck focuses on the Populate mechanic to create as many creatures on the battlefield and pumping them as much as possible to make them an unstoppable force.

This was my first deck I ever made so this deck is very special to me. The deck has been modified a lot since I first created it and this is what I have now. I will explain my ideas I created for this deck. If anyone has any suggestions or tips for this deck, please don't hesitate to tell me in the comment section! =)

1) Parallel Lives is the card that really inspired this deck. This card will be what makes the Populate and Token cards extra effective.

2) Birds of Paradise is very useful to help ramp mana to use our spells a lot earlier in the game.

3) Advent of the Wurm , Lingering Souls, Entreat the Angels and Call of the Conclave are our main token creating engine.

4) Path to Exile is the possibly the best removal card that white has in Modern right now and there's pretty much no reason for us to NOT play this card.

5) Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is useful because as each creature enters the battlefield under our control, we gain life to it's toughness, but also that it can populate any token that we want/need.

6) Rhys the Redeemed is amazing for many reasons. 1, he's only a one drop! 2, he can create some more tokens on the battlefield. 3, his greatest ability is we can literally double the number of creature tokens, which is very deadly for the opponent if the ability is used every turn!

7) Voice of Resurgence is a staple in most Selesnya aggro decks in Standard and in any Birthing Pod deck in Modern, but it is also a staple in this deck as well. Hating our opponent to not cast spells on our turn is amazing, but when it dies we get a token, which we can populate with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice or double it with Rhys the Redeemed. Also if we have Parallel Lives when it dies, we get two of those tokens instead!

8) Garruk, Primal Hunter is, in my opinion, most fitting Planeswalker for this deck, other than both Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Elspeth, Knight-Errant, because his +1 ability will create 3/3 tokens. Also if he can last to use his -6 ability it will create 6/6 tokens for every land in control!

9) The final touch for this deck is to pump up our creatures and/or tokens! Intangible Virtue gives all the tokens +1/+1 and Vigilance, which now they can attack and block at the same time.

Well at my local card shop they have TNM (Thursday Night Magic) which is in the Modern Format. I was only able to play against three decks tonight. Extremely happy with how this deck performed tonight!

Round 1: Vs. Gruul Aggro - Score: 2-0 (Win) The first game was basically a race to see who can do the most damage. I was able to put out more tokens than my opponent was able to put out creatures. My opponent also had some burn spells such as Mizzium Mortars and Bonfire of the Damned. He overloaded Mizzium Mortars hoping to get at least rid of 3/3 Centaur and 2/2 Vigilance Knight tokens, but I used Rootborn Defenses to disrupt their plan. The same when my opponent miracle'd Bonfire of the Damned for X = 6, but again I used Rootborn Defenses, and was able to bring their life to 0. The second game I was purely using two Birds of Paradise, my single Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, and a I believe at least six 3/3 Centaur tokens. My opponent wasn't able to get rid of all my centaurs and wasn't able to get rid of Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, as I aggressively attack each turn, and continually gain life, eventually just pummeling my opponent's life total to 0.

Round 2: Vs. Black / Red Vampire Tribal Midrange - Score: 2-1 (Win) The first game my opponent won mainly with 3 Vampire Nighthawk, with one of them enchanted with Mark of the Vampire, as well as having Rakish Heir in play. Though this doesn't happen normally in this deck, I had trouble drawing any token creation cards such as Call of the Conclave and Advent of the Wurm. The second game I won by having a very strong board state with two of the 8/8 vigilance tokens created from Grove of the Guardian, six 3/3 centaurs from Call of the Conclave as well as ten 5/5 Trample wurms from Advent of the Wurm. I also had Parallel Lives and Growing Ranks on the battle field. The third game I won by having a very aggressive start with a turn one Bird of Paradise, turn two Call of the Conclave, turn three Advent of the Wurm, turn four Growing Ranks, and then with a turn five Parallel Lives. I had such an aggressive start with two 5/5 trample wurms constantly entering the battlefield each turn.

Round 3: Vs. American (Red/White/Blue) Control Infinite Combo (Yes one of "those" decks) - Score: 0-2 (Loss) On both games I was able to get a very aggressive start with Call of the Conclave, followed by Wayfaring Temple, followed by Advent of the Wurm, and I was able to get my opponent to low life. On both games however, he summoned Pestermite, then on both games, the following turn he enchanted it with Splinter Twin, and he was able to essentially create an infinite amount of Pestermite tokens and he was able to swing at me for a full 20 on both games using that combo. It was because of this game that made me add Path to Exile to my sideboard, so to get rid of creatures that are capable of creating infinite combos, as well as to add removal to the deck.
