Also, when playing I find that I like to play this deck more like a combo deck. some times I will wait for turn 5 to play Gifts Ungiven for the sol reason of wanting to play a day undoing after gifts or keeping up counterspell mana. I like to play this deck more like a 3 turn storm deck, that moves slower but is much less susceptible to removal or combo-stoppers. I personaly do not like the Snapcaster Mages as much as I feel I should because I believe that they are fuel fro the late game, just like Day's Undoing and are arguably not as good as the former.
I am also considering running 1 Snapcaster Mage and an additional big creature with 3 Unburial Rites so that if the first one doesn't succeed in totally shutting down your opponent then the second/third most certainly will. this is why I feel running the Merchant Scrolls is completely justified they are such a diverse card and act as fuel in the late game, card advantage, or just playing out right gifts ungiven.

I am not try to be out right contradictory, but the goal is to create the most powerful deck at al stages of the game.

And as for Emrakule I explained in a previous post that he is usually fetched up by Eye of Ugin which as I have said many times before is late-game value.

I was just thinking about all the board sweeps that I should include but none of them seemed to fit. I just realized that Terminus is the most perfect board wipe. it puts things on the bottom of your library so you can still fetch them up with gifts. miracle really just feels like icing on the cake.
July 23, 2015 11:14 p.m.
The main problem with Terminus is you're never going to get to cast it in the games where you'll want a board wipe, unless you miracle it. Elves, burn and zoo and any other deck where you'd want a board wipe will have you dead long before you'll get to the 6 mana you need for terminus. That's why the 4 mana board wipe package that the poster above suggested is much better.
And as for days undoing, you'll naturally get card advantage through Thirst for Knowledge, Gifts Ungiven, Snapcaster and through trading 3+ for one with your boardwipes. Day's Undoing is for aggressive/combo decks who dump their whole hand, then refill with Day's Undoing. The card will help your opponent more than it'll help you in almost every single situation, since control decks naturally keep a rather full hand. This just isn't the deck for it, as cool as the card is.
And the problem with 3 Unburial Rites is that Unburial Rites is a card you never, ever want to draw. You don't have the black mana to cast it from hand, and splashing for black isn't something you want to be doing either since the mana base will get pretty inconsistent with 3 colors + colorless tron lands. 2 is probably the maximum you'd ever want to run. And same here! I'm trying to be constructive without just saying 'No, that's bad.'. Like, trying to tell you why it's a card you wouldn't want.

Think about this deck not as 3 color tron but 2 color tron that has the resources to splash white.
July 24, 2015 11:03 p.m.
I am REALLY liking Ugin in this build. I would like to bring him up to a 2 of. what should I remove?
July 30, 2015 1:05 p.m.
I play UW Tron as my competitive deck and I think Condescend is your greatest counterspell. I play it 4x with 2x Remand. Most of the time people will tap-out in modern and doing a Condescend for 1 or 2 is largely sufficient for the early game (and if you're on the late game, you should have enough mana to make it big enough anyways). I'd switch the mana leaks for these.
August 3, 2015 12:54 a.m.
I also used to run the Snapcaster Mage in my deck but I think you don't really need it.
I'd switch the Day's Undoing for a Sphinx's Revelation (supposing the day's~ is for drawing)
For your sideboard, Spellskite is your best friend. It is good against burn (duh), Infect (redirect the pump spells on it), affinity (you can redirect Cranial Plating on it) which are the 3 modern decks that'll cause you trouble due to their speed.
You also don't need that many Hallowed Moonlight since 1 counterspell well placed on a Splinter Twin will break the combo. Spellskite is, once again, of crazy utility against Twin decks since you can redirect the enchantment on it...
I personally run 2x Crucible of Worlds and 1x Timely Reinforcements on my sideboard.

& answering your previous post, 2 unburrial rites is sufficient. Did you consider running Colossus of Akros?? It is golden of a card.
Also, you only have 6 sources of green (9 with the Pentad Prism). This is low. I have 10 colored lands in my UW Tron and 4 Signets and sometimes I get color issues... & you don't even have a basic forest. If your opponent drops a Blood Moon, you cannot dig anymore. I'd drop a card for a basic Forest and drop maybe a Sylvan Scrying for a 4th Expedition Map, since the map will allow you to fetch a basic land incase of Blood Moon sticky situations

Last, if you don't play any source of Black (which I do aswell), 4 Thirst for Knowledge is important since it allows you to discard Unburial Rites if you draw it.
August 3, 2015 1:10 a.m.
Thank you for the advice. the only thing that I disagree with is the for Thirst for Knowledge. I rarely draw Unburial Rites and when I do I have Day's Undoing to return it to my library and three other copies of it are enough card advantage. I am running serum visions. the only reason why I'm not running the colossus is because he's 8 mana and ugin is strictly better.
August 4, 2015 11:12 p.m.
Still haven't tested Day's Undoing, but I doubt I'll personally like it :p
For the Colossus, it would've been instead of the Wurmcoil Engine. If you play against creature based decks at your LGS, it may be a better option. If you play against Burn, Ad Nauseum or other decks that cannot pull infinite combos, then the Engine is better because of the life gain. If you play against combo decks, the Engine can come out 1 turn faster so you can pressure your opponents with it.
Oh, and you badly need a basic plains for the Blood Moon situations. I used not to run it, and it cost me a few times before I threw it in and it did work. You wanna be able to flashback something on the board. Most decks that run Blood Moon will be totally locked by a Iona in addition to not being able to withstand the pressure.
Sure you could say you have signets to give you the white mana but if you draw a map instead, then you can fetch the basic plain with it.

Look to the sideboard. there just so happens to be a couple copies of beast within. "shows middle finger to the guy playing sked red".
August 5, 2015 12:01 a.m.
and as for days undoing it has always been controversial but it is card advantage plain and simple and your tron so loosing 1 turn wont sting to much
August 5, 2015 12:02 a.m.
Hmmm, most decks in modern empty their hands and run on top-decking. If you play a Day's Undoing vs most combo decks (Collected Company, Twin) or any aggro (Infect, burn, Affinity) or zoo decks, they'll make you pay... and sadly that's most decks out there. Also they get to play first with these newly drawn cards.
I may just be wrong about this card. I'll play and test it like i said, but I have my serious doubts.
August 5, 2015 12:07 a.m.
Everyone please point and laugh at the guy playing twin at FNM. this deck hoses twin so please don't give me any more sideboard suggestions against twin. we already have 6 of them!
August 5, 2015 12:08 a.m.
I may be over reacting a bit but this card is much better than it seems. you play it on turn five draw a mana leak and then laugh. end the turn really isn't such a big deal because Gifts Ungiven (and most spells) are Instants or have flash. ahem snapcaster
August 5, 2015 12:13 a.m.
I have removed Snapcaster Mage for and additional copy of Condescend.

I'm on the fence about a 3-4.color tron. Do you think Gemstone Array may make more sense than any penta prism or cantrip-o-fact? I mean tron produces sooooo much mana. It seems good in multicolor tron.
September 20, 2015 9:58 p.m.
maybe but I ty to stick to 2-3 colors and the chromatics work fine

I have tried this deck with proxies in FNM and the Day's Undoing just seem so hard to part with. it's not getting used in the early game, if you use it there you're doing it wrong. they exist in this deck only as fuel for the late game. I have never been disappointed by Day's Undoing. and to top it all, you are playing tron a deck that is usual a few turns ahead (mana wise). I would however argue that it's place in this deck is as a one of.
