razelfark On the contrary I use Eerie Interlude in my black white allies deck (no deck list on this website) but as long as your attacking in the same turn and winning before they come back you should be fine. But it is a card to look for if playing this type of deck however as you stated I don't believe many people are using it.

What about replacing Sylvan Advocate with Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger?
May 23, 2016 5:39 p.m.
cinderbl0ck The reason you want to have Sylvan Advocate is because he is an amazing two drop that will help you get to late game and is also a strong early beater if your opponent has no answers for him. Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger can win games easily enough by himself, but it its not the purpose of the deck. After all, "Ok, so people are claiming ramp decks are the new thing. Well let me tell you, they aren't playing ramp, they're playing high mana cost creature decks. THIS is a ramp deck." :D

the problem is not how to win with he Great Aurora but survive until dawn launch and Sylvan Advocate is good
May 24, 2016 2:50 a.m.
Also if you were to play Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger you would do so after play Aurora because you would easily have all the lands by then. So when you cast him, they have no permanents out so his first ability hits nothing, but after that he may be ok but as stated its not the point of the deck, but could be funny.

This goes back to the questions on Embodiment of Insight and playing g/w. Why not run Secure the Wastes, Eerie Interlude, and Stasis Snare. Using stasis to exile Embodiment, so when you cast aurora, embodiment come back into play before all the lands hit the field.

Javva209, I attempted to build a variation around the Embodiment of Insight combo, From tokens to 3/3 lands, I think its a really neat concept of what your trying to do. So i thought i might as well give it a shot. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

I don't see how Embodiment of Insight would work. When you play The Great Aurora, Embodiment won't be on the field anymore when all those lands come back into play.

Te version i'm running now, fixed this. I cast The Great Aurora, the when in discard my stuff, i cast Essence Flux on the embodiment. This allows him to exile and returning after all discard happen, playing the lands.
May 25, 2016 3:18 p.m.
Nope. The card Essence Flux even if cast will not leave Embodiment on the field if cast in response to Aurora. The reason is Flux finishes resolving before Aurora, meaning your creature is spread back on the field to be put back in deck. This is is also means if you try to cast in respond to any field wipe spells the same result happens. Flux will only save a creature from direct target spells because it causes the spell to lose its target.

What about Mirrorpool? Either for copying a Gaea's revenge or renewal?
May 25, 2016 7:18 p.m.
ctrlALTdel you are correct about Aligned Hedron Network working with Aurora to return your creatures to the field after they have been removed, but to pair with Embodiment of Insight you need to do something to increase the Creatures power by one at least. If you want want to go for this combo I would suggest having white in the deck and use Always Watching so you can get the Embodiment strong enough to be removed for effect so when you cast The Great Aurora it will remove Network from the Field and put Embodiment back into play in the proper time for you to get the landfall triggers. Overall this combo relies on casting a lot of cards and isn't very practical but when it happens it will be lethal (more often the not).
Javva209 while it sounds like a great idea at first. The problem with this is that Gaea's Revenge can on be targeted by green sources for spells or abilities. This means Mirrorpool being a colorless source will not be able to target this creature.

I don't love the Aligned Hedron Network combo because there's a good chance your opponent will have a creature caught in it as well (especially on game 2 when they know whats coming). That kills the benefit of Aurora clearing the field of blockers. I've been using Embodiment of Insight in my version to great effect just by using other ramp cards after the aurora. Holding back 1 land to play after the Aurora and using a Nissa's Renewal with a Sylvan Advocate out is 20 damage.
Gaea's Revenge is still the best combo to pull off since there's almost no answer for it.

Hey everyone, thank you so much for all the input. I just want to ask anyone that has played this deck what kind of results they are getting. Does it hold up at all? I usually only play casual so the range of decks I face is fairly limited
May 26, 2016 9:47 p.m.
For what it's worth, you can't use Mirrorpool on Gaea's Revenge.
May 27, 2016 12:45 a.m.
the results are good deck is stable and has problems with flying and avacin is not easy to make choices after the great aurora
May 27, 2016 6:34 a.m.
charmingtuber I agree that the combo with the Network isn't as good using Revenge, but it is not bad for the reason you stated. If your opponents creatures get tied up with Aligned Hedron Network it isn't that much of an issue if you managed to get your Embodiment of Insight under it. The reasoning is that Embodiment will be able to make it so you can go wide enough around the creatures that renter the battlefield and none of the creatures that fall into the range of Network will be an issue for when you attack. The real issue is that it is a four card combo that requires cards to be played in an awkward way. I like crazy ideas and try playing them from time to time, but I wouldn't suggest it if you want to play serious (referring to combo of Network and Embodiment).
The idea of Aurora with Revenge seems to be best option mostly because it can't be targeted (easily at least). Only other options I can think to try to add would be Reality Smasher but it has the problem of you just put a lot of cards in their hand that they wouldn't mind discarding likely if they drew a control spell.

If Avacyn is a problem would side boarding in 2 clip wings be worth it?
And thanks for the heads up about Mirrorpool, silly me.
May 27, 2016 12:17 p.m.
I love using Clip Wings Especially against the Westvale Abbey Flip
May 27, 2016 12:41 p.m.
itsbuzzi That is a great suggestion since its one of the few cards that could stop you from swinging for game after using Aurora to Revenge. The only cards that I could see proving trouble some to this deck are any creatures with flash (Reflector Mage) to use as chump blockers or instant speed creature generation cards (Secure the Wastes, CoCo).
razelfark says... #1
Nothing in standard that is instant speed to respond after aurora. Only green responses out require werewolves being on the fieldMoonlight Hunt. Since aurora will clear the field your safe to swing for one turn from this card regardless.
Just thought of a card that could give you issues if you can't kill them that turn. Eerie Interlude can prevent you from returning their creatures back to the deck because it exiles them and returns them back at end of turn. I don't think its really being used so you don't have much to worry about on that end though.
