I believe you do get to choose which order permanents ETB for Genesis Wave .

I'd run the playset of Prime Time. As far as having Haste, you'd probably have to splash red. Sarkhan Vol , Fervor , and Urabrask the Hidden all grant Haste. Ezuri doesn't seem to fit.

Lotus Cobra is a beast, especially with fetches. Turn 3 Prime Time! Viridian Emissary is another good, underrated card. Oracle of Mul Daya and/or Courser of Kruphix would be cool. Solemn Simulacrum is also solid.

Garruk Wildspeaker or even better Garruk, Primal Hunter would be cool. For more card draw I like Seer's Sundial . I use many of the aforementioned cards in:

I do like your Utopia Sprawl/Arbor Elf combo here.

Yeah I plan to try to trade for some Lotus Cobra and try it out in here.

I definitely need a playset of Primeval Titan (s). I'll be up to 3x once this trade get's all said and done.

Ezuri is in there just for some luhls, He's won me a game so I just let him be until I can acquire the other cards.

Garruk Wildspeaker would be fun in here as well. Just for the Enchanted Forest untap.

I've been trying to acquire him as well :P

And if that's the case with Genesis Wave then I think i DO want to run Rampaging Baloths in here because that seems like it'd just be devastating and almost impossible to recover from. (Hence why I want to try and get haste in here.)

.... Oh shit. I just thought about something Anger

he'd hit the graveyard after the Genesis Wave ... Perfect!

NOOOOOOOOoOoOooOooOooOoOo.

Damnit. Anger would have been PERFECT =(

Hammer it is I guess.

Or I can just stick with a couple Wolf Runs.

What would you do!?

June 27, 2014 4:02 p.m.

Scorprix says... #6

I'd just run a hammer. But why not also run Kessig Wolf Run , since it can give trample and extra power.

June 27, 2014 4:50 p.m.

Caligula says... #7

I'm already running 1 wolf run. Might up the count to 2 so I can trample multiples

aeonstoremyliver I played my incomplete version of this against my roomie yesterday and was able to get prime time out turn 3 via 2x Arbor elf with 1 forest and a utopia sprawl attached Hahahaha. Turn 4 it was a GG after I hit genesis wave for 5 dropping a Heroes' Bane and Asceticism swinging for 12 with prime time and a wolf run.

I am really starting to like the way this deck is working

Hey d00d. I just got the notification now; sorry about that. I was out camping this weekend. I'm gonna sit down and take a look at this once I recover haha.

So, I'll be 100% honest, I have no idea what to do with the mainboard of this deck. It's a bit out of my element, and it seems efficient as it is.

I sorry. If you give me specific areas that you want to improve on I might be able to help with that, though. I'm usually pretty good with sideboards too.

I really like this deck! I guess that's no surprise given my love of green decks and ESPECIALLY elf-based decks.

I literally have only a few ideas for the deck (as it is very strong as it is!) They are:

  1. Adding two Summoner's Pact to the deck. You can remove any assortment of your fatties for it. This just allows you to be more specific about which Fatty you play against the opponent. I like having the ability to choose how I beat the opponent at times; and the upkeep cost isn't awful for a green ramp deck (and often you will be so far ahead at that point that it won't matter at all!)

  2. Possibly adding Beast Within to your sideboard. This is just a great answer to any arifact, enchantment, land, planeswalker, or creature that disrupts your plan...it's just a very good sideboard card for green. I really like a lot of your ideas in the board (you're the reason I just bought a foil Avoid Fate :) and a lot of people would say to add things like Nature's Claim ; but Beast Within covers multiple bases with one card.

  3. Adding one Overgrowth to the deck over one of the higher-end cards. This will allow you to ramp a little better (even in decks where they are able to kill your mana-creatures and Arbor Elves early). You have plenty of 5+ drops to get away with one less as well. A lot of people aren't comfortable with 1-ofs; so I understand if that is something you aren't comfortable with the idea.

These of course, are just ideas...none of them may improve the deck, as it looks GREAT now! Gaea's Revenge is a super powerful card that even control can't deal with (which is traditionally a tougher match-up for us green-mages :) Keep up the good work! +1 of course.

@CurdBrosBrewingCo thank you very much for the kind words.

Great recommendations.

Summoner's Pact makes alot of sense in this deck just due to being able to search for whatever suits the field. Perhaps this is where I can make Chord of Calling shine?

Beast Within Seem's like the best choice to go for removal for sure. I'll have to pick up a few copies of those

Annnnd Overgrowth seem's very intriguing, I'll definitely be playing around with a few of those in here. Seems definitely alot safer to run more land based ramp to dodge removal.

Thanks for the tips!

No, I wanted to keep it all ramping. I don't want to rely to heavily on the piper, Seeing as how she'd probably just take removal to the face all day.

Plus with ramp + Genesis Wave there's no need for the piper =)

I would consider Terra Stomper . 8/8 trample for 6 that can't be countered. good stuff. Also, Primordial Hydra could replace Heroes' Bane . He can start out a little bigger and makes himself bigger without wasting your mana. He also can get trample.

July 7, 2014 10:32 p.m.

16smith this deck started out as a golgari hydra deck and it had Primordial Hydra (s). (I've since been aquiring cards to make a different golgari deck :P)

The problem is they are useless when you use Genesis Wave because they get dropped as a 0/0 and just fizzle out :P

Terra Stomper is pretty decent in the sense that he can't be countered. But once he hit's the board he's easily removed.

Green's biggest issue is removal of their giants either coming onto the board or staying put.

That's where Gaea's Revenge is better suited because he dodges all removal (Except green obvs.) AND has haste which is better in this deck for the Genesis Wave (If you don't draw into Akroma's Memorial )

I LOVE the Scuttling Doom Engine / Life's Legacy combo you've added since M15! Really cool idea. May have to use that in a deck if you don't mind :)

Are you sure Scuttling Doom Engine is better than Wurmcoil Engine ?

CurdBrosBrewingCo Help yourself man, I was drooling when I seen that combo and I knew it'd be the missing oomph this deck needed!

jonhydude 6 Damage straight to the opponent is definitely better. especially after an attack phase.

Much better for this deck IMO.
