Creature (1)

Artifact (1)

Just committed to this real-life deck after lots of playtesting following my swift lovefall with the recent giants MTG has been putting out. It's metal as hell. Forged from fire and lightning, these hardy bois have come to do some serious damage.

Idea is simple: big baddies are big. But "dies to removal" is old-hat, as we bring two especially-painful brutes to the party that punish being targeted in the form of Tectonic Giant and the OP Juggernaut himself Bonecrusher Giant. Lots of fireworks packed into a couple of cards.

All spells cost only up to two red mana, allowing for a very nice utility belt of lands as well as plenty of room for the Cleansing Wildfire + Indestructible Land synergy. 23 Lands seems to be perfect, and I only draw all-colorless in openings or first turns on rare occasions. Even so, having 8 colorless creatures and a light demand for red makes what would usually be unplayable mulligans usable. And having 13 artifacts of me own also means sometimes I Metalcraft Galvanic Blast, which is just a nice fifth "bolt" to have for mana dorks and other small targets.

Deck as-is ran me just shy of $300 after I splurged on some holographics. Pretty proud, honestly; All the giants are holo, with one extended art Quakebringer and a Japanese alternative art Mechagodzilla Crystalline Giant that serves as the featured card for this deck. Could probably get it for $100 less easy without holos, far less without any Cavern of Souls (the most expensive piece).

This deck functions remarkably smooth for something with so top-heavy of a mana curve. Definitely a few holes as this is my "budget" compromise for now, but unless I'm up against a super-quick deck like infect or some infinite turn 3 combo, I can usually thrash even some tiers in the meta and if not usually take them into a very late game. So far the biggest hindrance is the single Cavern.

Sideboard takes care of most of the problems I come across; Planeswalkers (Flame Blitz) and plenty of artifact hate with Smash to Smithereens especially being a favorite way to really give the finger to affinity, Swords, various combos, etc. IDEALLY, I would have Surgical Extractions or Relic of Progenitus, but by the time I got to the sideboard I was already well over what I wanted to spend so I settled for a set of Soul-Guide Lanterns, which, while not quite as valuable without the draw upon sacrifice does contain most graveyard strategies enough for me to get some huge threats going.

Upgrades to come include a full set of Cavern of Souls, a single Hall of the Bandit Lord which was phenomenal in playtesting, and trading up the Basilisk Collar to a Shadowspear.

Let me know if you like it or where I could possibly squeeze in more interaction or trim it up. I like the idea of some more burn (Rift Bolt?) or sweeps, but I just don't know what I could drop. Occasionally I feel like 4 Calamity Bearers are too much but its just so amazing to usually have one to drop after a Tectonic Giant or before Inferno Titan.
