Hello !

I wanted to make a Gandalf Flash deck the minute I pulled him from a booster. So I went to work and build a quite "normal" -artifact combodeck-. After some days I found this to be quite boring and wanted to redo the deck and think about a more fun and fair way to play it.

So... This is my final iteration (for now ;-) ) of Gandalf using "value artifacts" ( Coveted Jewel, Chromatic Star ...), "enter the battlefield doubler" ( Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, Panharmonicon ...), "cool combat tricks" ( Windshaper Planetar, Sleeper Dart ...) and... ANGELS ! ( Lyra Dawnbringer, Linvala, the Preserver, Restoration Angel ...)

Some of the value-cards do their work when entering AND / OR leaving the battlefield I included some

"staple" sac-outlets Ashnod's Altar, Krark-Clan Ironworks

and some very useful "not so standard" ones like Phyrexia's Core and Arcbound Ravager

Phyrexia's Core is nice because it a land and not very prone to destruction and Arcbound Ravager is very synergistic with all of the artifact stuff that is happening in this deck (and maybe you have also drawn a lot of cards from the sacrificed value-artifacts....)

One of the weak points of the deck was... flyers.

A single big flyer could end me fast (without me using tutor-combo play) so... Problem recognized - Problem solved :-)

This deck still includes some potential combos like for example

Aetherflux Reservoir + Foundry Inspector + Sensei's Divining Top or any other cost reducer but there is mostly no need to play or tutor them. Tutor for a nice impactfull Angel instead! ;-)

This deck features the most cost effective Angels, often featuring (one or more) of the following abilities: First Strike / Lifelink / Vigilance. These forces will be a nice combat trick to flash in and are quite effective in keeping you alive or end the other players.

I´m using some nice (mostly) one-sided boardwipes for this deck.

One awesome boardwipe in this deck for example is Scourglass. Don´t know the card ? Just read it ;-) Flash is sooo good. BTW: This is an artifact so you can get it back with the various recursion artifacts like Myr Retriever ;-)

There is also a lot of ramp in this deck and a lot of times you will be the player with the most lands on the board... in mono white !! ;-)

Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines + Gandalf the White + Solemn Simulacrum and maybe a flicker effect-> a lot of lands on the battlefield ;-) ;-)

Recursion is also not a problem.

You can get a lot of artifacts back with the likes of Myr Retriever or Scrap Trawler. Need some Angel from your graveyard and wanna put it into play at instant speed ? Cast Bruna, the Fading Light    , hehe. During combat maybe? ;-)
