from what i have been reading, G/W tokens is becoming a thing so beware. i don't know how prevalent they are now but watch out for bant auras. to deal with them, Ray of Revelation is fantastic.

Hey like the list, but it seems like you are stuck a little bit in between being a control deck and a mid-range deck. Which is fine, but i would probably take your control elements to the sideboard.

Firstly i think AEtherling is just a straight cut. While i like that creature it's home is in a straight control shell. He wins you games, but in your deck he's filling a slot that is hindering your other creatures from winning games. i like moving Progenitor Mimic from the sideboard to fill that slot.

Seems like your early play against aggro is to Azorius Charm to a Supreme Verdict but right now with Voice of Resurgence that plan isn't as dominate as it used to be. So i think key decisions have to be made in how you plan your early game. Since you run so many Snapcaster Mage i would likely suggest you run some Call of the Conclave and or some Selesnya Charm so you can fill the board with cheap dudes, and recur them with a Snapcaster after you wrath the board later. Also running a few Advent of the Wurm could be a route you take...

By doing this you need to give up some cards, i think cutting down to 3 wrath effects is a good idea, if you put in cards to help your early game by putting creatures on the board. You should also cut down to 3 Snapcasters as it takes a while for your graveyard to fill to use him with the most efficiency. And i would move the Dissipate to the sideboard. That frees up 4 slots...

Finally since you mentioned to me you had problems with the Aristocrats, try using Terminus against them. Terminus is weak against aggro, but is so much better against the Aristocrats and Reanimator decks...

Best of luck with your list, cheers!

thanks for the comments and suggestions sk00kes I just picked up 3 progenitor mimics and decided to throw em in the sb instead of maybe board, but I have to plans to incorporate him soon.

I think the best suggestion u made was adding terminus, and with azorius charm i can attempt to rip one on their turn.

One of the reasons I've had Aetherling mainboaded was to combat opponents Aetherling, it becomes a race to see whose will get the win.

Yes AEtherling is a problem for most all mid-range decks. If your opponent plays it on a mostly empty board with plenty of mana to protect him, it's pretty much game over... The problem with fighting fire with fire is you are now altering what you are trying to do well, by using a card that doesn't have any real synergy with what you're trying to do.

People are now sideboarding Pithing Needle against it, the benefit is this card can also turn off lands like Kessig Wolf Run and planeswalkers. How about turning off Sorin, Lord of Innistrad against Aristocrats...

You also have access to Nevermore which is also a great card that can have a bit more reach if you are facing a tough matchup, and know all the key cards your opponent plays.

And finally a card that i thought is out in left field that can totally hose Mr. Ling is Stormtide Leviathan . But it's a bit of a reach, and i must admit competitively it is a worse choice than the other two options. But just imagine seeing someones face who just played an Aetherling, then bam you slam down big daddy Leviathan!

Just how sweet would that be...

sk00kes I see myself siding at least one Aetherling, mainly because he works well along side verdicts, and its not like I'm splashing blue just for him. But I can see how he isn't necessary in the main for game one.

Pithing needle is a great card that shuts down almost any activated threat. I've had three in my sb for a while. I've been at work all day and still am, il be trying to find time to deck edit later. Hit me with a +1 if u like the brew.

Wait I can use pithing needle on atherling?

July 1, 2013 12:16 p.m.

Behgz says... #18

you can use pithing needle to shut down Not Only Aetherling, but also Liliana of the veil, nephalia drownyard, olivia voldaren, gavony township, nicol bolas planeswalker, deathrite shaman, the list goes on. creatures, planeswalkers, lands, even artifacts like cluestones and runes. The one thing it doesnt really stop is enchantments because 9 times out of ten they have a passive ability as opposed to an activated ability but im sure if u dig deep enough you'll find something that it shuts down.

Ok I was wondering if Atherlings ''blink'' ability was a mana ability because you have to tap mana to do it.

July 1, 2013 1:16 p.m.

Behgz says... #20

a mana ability is something that produces mana from activating an ability, by naming Aetherling u also shut down his pump ability. Pithing needle is a really great card. If you name a planeswalker they can play the card but they can't use any of its abilities, same goes for the province lands like vault of the arch angel and kessig wolf run, one of my personal fav targets with pithing needle.
