I was thinking that it would be better if you put those Genesis Hydra's back in. The Hornet Queen's are better sideboard cards then mainboard cards. Also, you should put those Karametra's Acolyte's back in because you need the devotion to make Hydra Broodmaster's and Polukranos, World Eater's monstrosity ability come to better use. Come check out my deck, Hydra Overkill, it is very similar.

i found every game come game 2 i was doing the same thing, taking out 2 Genesis Hydra for 2 Hornet Queen so it made sence to just swap complety, and i very rarly used Karametra's Acolyte shes great once in but not over something else i may drop a Setessan Tactics to just one and put one more Genesis Hydra back in to be honest and as for Nissa, Worldwaker i found her to be useless 99% of the time.

have you considered Dragon Throne of Tarkir as an alternative to nylea? its synergy with broodmaster is apauling. even a monsterous 4 broodmaster makes his 4 tokens 15/15 trample which is 60 damage.

When I ran mono green devo, it was a sick card. I ran 2 because once they see it they HAVE to answer to it. Spend 1 turn making that brood master monstrous, then cast, equip, and activate (9 mana total) the next turn and just steamroll them. Even mana dorks get huge.

Dragon Throne of Tarkir is epic. I got a promo at the release tournament.

Are four Courser of Kruphix's really worth it? Their ability is only really good if you have one down and two does not help that much. Also, those Arbor Colossus's are pretty good...

well i normally run just 3 but was thinking with the fech lands in now i need them early game to gain anything frm them so i need to increase the chance of drawing it

Wouldn't it be better to have Fade into Antiquity than Reclamation Sage? I mean, Reclamation Sage is just a small creature so it does not really matter in this deck because you have plenty of small creatures and Fade into Antiquity can even exile a god.

ive been thinking he exact same thing just, though i can pull the Reclamation Sage with Chord of Calling if i need it fast? im torn between Fade into Antiquity and Unravel the Aether 1 mana faster and you get instant speed but they could redraw it. then again i recon one turn diffrence wont matter ild probably end up going with Fade into Antiquity

See, the problem with taking out the Genesis Hydra's is that it is harder to get the Hydra Broodmaster's and Dragon Throne of Tarkir. The problem with Dragon Throne of Tarkir is that you can't summon it with Chord of Calling while you can with Nylea, God of the Hunt.

i was thinking the same, might drop the Chord of Calling for more Genesis Hydra

i run 3 genesis in my main, and 1 in my side for my gruul deck. if they show no shenanigans game 1, i pull the 4th in. its great for overwhelming them mid game. considering adding dragon throne to my own gruul just because its almost a win-con if they dont answer to it. can be pulled out and activated late game easily, and mid game you can get it out, then do it next turn. just so much threat. plus i run Bow of Nylea so the synergy between deathtouch and trample is just disgusting with strong creatures.

(for those that don't know, trample just says you have to do lethal damage to a blocking creature and the rest is applied to the player. with deathtouch 1 damage is lethal, meaning a 7/7 trample deathtouch blocked by a 10/10 still does 6 to the player)

i've also got a mono-green deck on here that would probably give this deck a hell of a match. love mono-green, its just too impractical with all the removal running around and the lack of counter removal green has to offer. thats why i run gruul for my fnm deck. its faster, safer, and in my opinion better due to those factors. plus red opens up a lot of solid fliers.

I think that you should not drop the Chord of Calling and just ad more Genesis Hydra instead of I do not know. Maybe some sideboard cards.

@miniraise Genesis Hydra is better for this deck cause it stays on the field so itll add devotion while Chord of Calling wont

December 12, 2014 9:37 a.m.

miniraise says... #17

I think that there should be both in it.

less Archetype of Endurance more Courser of Kruphix i also feel that you should be running at least one Chord of Calling because anything in your deck gains flash seems pretty goodi also prefer Unravel the Aether over face into antiquity i feel that if youre getting blown out to something very quick depending on the deck either Defend the Hearth (for rabblemaster decks) or Back to Nature (for suicide black) i personally run gruul at the moment and i have always been a fan of at least two Nylea's Disciple main board but 4 of in my 75i also when i was running monogreen before khans came out and durring m15 loved running Soul of New Phyrexia for my dreaded control matchups i also feel like a mainboard or two mistcutter hydra would be better than maybe one of your broodmasters because they don't do anything until a turn after you cast him and thats assuming the other player doesnt counter him or ever kill him because Hero's Downfall is a thing and ive always oved casting a mistcutter for a lot and swinging for the win

December 14, 2014 10:30 a.m.

Wow, i really like this deck, since ive been considering running monogreen. Personally though i would run the Mistcutter's Mainboard, otherwise i have no issues with this and should see it doing well for a while at FNM. Well done.

its been doing rather well winning 3-1 consistantly

December 22, 2014 11:23 a.m.

One question i have is why the Wooded foothills? And Windswept heath?

December 22, 2014 2 p.m.

egriffiths says... #22

i use them to thin the deck out mainly, so with ever one i play theres more chance of pulling a creature when you want one, and extra courser triggers

Why use the really expensive fetch lands when you can instead use four more forests and Evolving Wilds?

December 23, 2014 9:26 a.m.

egriffiths says... #24

because they come in tapped, i was using them while i was waiting for my fetches,

December 23, 2014 9:52 a.m.

pikachu21 says... #25

+1, but why are you using fetches? there is no need! they dont gain you life and they only get forest for you
