You should use Nature's Claim instead of Naturalize cuz it's CMC is lower and it's not like the extra 4 life is going to help them if you have a huge Primeval Titan.

Great suggestions all around! I honestly didn't even know about Nature's Claim, what a bargain for 1cmc!

That hydra also looks great - would be excellent to pull out with Yisan, the Wanderer Bard unlike Genesis Hydra.

I'd like to toss out a recommendation for Heroes' Bane. With the amount of mana ramp you have, he can get out of control very quickly. Though he lacks trample himself. I run him in a for fun, budget, green, mana ramp deck. That deck includes several ways to get him trample though. Waves of Green is the deck if you want to take a look.

Hmm, I do like the look of Heroes' Bane, but I'm slightly concerned about the mana cost required to get him to become an 8/8 (Am I reading it correctly?) especially since I don't really have a way to generate tokens on existing creatures with the exception of the two Solidarity of Heroes' cards (which I guess I may need more of.)

Now that I've said that though, I do suppose I can quickly power him up from 4 -> 8 -> 16 tokens within a turn if I pop Solidarity of Heroes together with his ability. Definitely in the maybe board, thanks! :D

Not a problem. Don't forget, if you have a card like Paragon of Eternal Wilds in play Heroes' Bane starts as a 5/5. His ramp is not based on his counters, but his power. Instead of 4 > 8 > 16, it would be 5 > 10 > 19 with your combo.

Pardon the length of this next part, but I have to share my best experience with him.

Opening Hand 3 Forest, 1 Elvish Mystic, 1 Whisperer of the Wilds, 1 Llanowar Elves, 1 Heroes' BaneTurn 1) Forest + Elvish MysticTurn 2) Forest + Whisperer of the Wilds + Llanowar Elves, here I drew Overwhelming StampedeTurn 3) Oran-Rief, the Vastwood + Ranger's PathTurn 4) Forest + Heroes' Bane and used Oran-Rief, the Vastwood to make him 5/5. Then doubled his counters to make him a 10/10. Turn 5)Next turn I played Overwhelming Stampede to make him a 20/20 trample and then doubled him again to become a 40/40 trample.

Given, this was a pretty damn ideal situation, but it was still awesome!

Wow, that formatting looks terrible. Here is a better attempt:

Opening Hand 3 Forest, 1 Elvish Mystic, 1 Whisperer of the Wilds, 1 Llanowar Elves, 1 Heroes' Bane

Turn 1) Forest + Elvish Mystic

Turn 2) Forest + Whisperer of the Wilds + Llanowar Elves, here I drew Overwhelming Stampede

Turn 3) Oran-Rief, the Vastwood + Ranger's Path

Turn 4) Forest + Heroes' Bane and used Oran-Rief, the Vastwood to make him 5/5. Then doubled his counters to make him a 10/10.

Turn 5)Next turn I played Overwhelming Stampede to make him a 20/20 trample and then doubled him again to become a 40/40 trample.

Ohhh damn, okay - that's pretty cool. I misread (it's late) and for some reason assumed that the activated ability was a monstrous ability! But you also mentioned a nice Overwhelming Stampede... I think I also need to consider that, if I'm doubling counters with Heroes' Bane and Solidarity of Heroes.

Glad to have been of assistance! Overwhelming Stampede is amazing and provides a very nice win con.

I believe that Fertile Ground is better.

Ok, so cut black.

No offense, but It does nothing here. Mono green would certainly be superior.

Nature's Claim is not a mainboard card. Restock and Cultivate are not playable. Neither are Paragon of Eternal Wilds, Polukranos, World Eater, Abzan Beastmaster, Whisperer of the Wilds or Yisan, the Wanderer Bard in modern.

Try a list like this:

3x Nissa, Worldwaker
4x Primeval Titan
4x Garruk Wildspeaker
4x Genesis Hydra
4x Arbor Elf
4x Utopia Sprawl
4x Kitchen Finks
4x Wurmcoil Engine
3x Scavenging Ooze
4x Joraga Treespeaker
19x Forest
3x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

Ha, no offense taken whatsoever! In fact, comments like yours are what I'm hoping for - I'm pretty new to the modern format (actually, magic in general but that's another story) so any suggestions (critical or otherwise) are thoroughly appreciated.

I see and like the list you provided but it's a little costly - I mostly play kitchen table/casual MTG but I did have an intention to take it to FNM games so this is helpful to have as a target deck!

Could I get you to please elaborate on why Polukranos doesn't work, however? I was under the impression that a 4CMC 5/5 creature with monstrous was pretty cheap. Also I noticed that you've excluded Omnath - I was also under the impression that for 3CMC he could get really big - but of course given your list I don't think he helps the rest of those cards much.

Thanks for your help though, I really do appreciate it!

Experiment One? Burning-Tree Emissary is a free cast and adds two devotion: Ex: drop down 4 Burning-Tree Emissary, tap Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for 8 mana turn 3. And maybe Undying Evil for the regen?

Well, he requires lots of mana to go off, and in modern if I Path to Exile or Terminate your guy after you payed, say, 10 mana, I lost 1 card and 1 mana, but you lost 1 card and 10 mana. You get 10-for-1'ed, which is not ideal.

The list I gave you also is not ideal. It was just a quick idea. You should work with what you have and then purchase the individual pieces you need to complete your deck. : )

Also, I had to take out Solidarity of Heroes in order to fit these things :( But I still can't help but feel like it's a great card to throw into the mix - especially with 9 cards that gain counters in a green ramp deck!

Really not sure what to swap in or out though - considering removing a Joraga Treespeaker or even a Garruk Wildspeaker but I'm really not sure which is better.

This deck could be absolute trash and you would win with that name.

Since you are running hydras I would recommend Ordeal of Nylea but you may not like it. If you want to do well against blue/counter cards then Mistcutter Hydra is one of the best creatres. But it might not run well with your deck's theme.

Haha, thanks for the kind words about the name! I honestly really only started building the deck around Garruk, Apex Predator and Nissa, Worldwaker, when I thought of the name - they were my only two planeswalkers at the time after cracking packs of boosters.

Anyway, I do like the idea behind Ordeal of Nylea, but as it is I'm already stuck for ideas for what cards to swap out - I would ideally like to run more Golgari Charm (what a great utility card) and Utopia Sprawl. So I think at this moment I'll not run it - for the sole reason that the 4x Primeval Titan will be pulling enough land for me.

As for Mistcutter Hydra I did honestly consider sideboarding it as a backup against counters, but didn't know what to take out, though looking back at the sideboard now I can probably take out Dragon Throne of Tarkir (probably have enough big creatures or things that get large) and Restock.

Thanks for the input!
