I'd love to have your take on this deck: Zombie Rush. I'll be finding a way to add card:Altar's Reap but what is your plan for artifact control decks? They are the only ones giving me trouble.

I recommend Hex Parasite for planeswalkers. For artifacts mono black doesn't have many answers. I use Duress against those decks to make them discard their artifact then Surgical Extraction them to remove all copies of that card from the game.

I don't use the captain in my deck but its looks very good in this deck! I recommend Diregraf Ghoul to make your deck faster and it's a zombie to boot.

I think it look pretty good! I haven't had the displeasure of playing against Trading Post yet. How's the new build working for you?

Cool build man, and thanks for the comment on mine. I don't run Bone Splinters because I find it to be too situational. In the early game I have creatures to target with card:Geth's Verdict and Tragic Slip so by the time I can afford Murder I don't mind paying the cost for it and my board should already be well enough established for it as well I feel.

The only thing different I would do with your deck is run more Mortapods over the Demonmail. But that may just come down to you and I having different play styles.

How does it do at FNM?

I like it. Bloodghast is one of my favourite cards. Blood Artist is nice as it gives you a bonus right off the bat. Would Bloodthrone Vampire be any more value? Thing is, with it you'd have to attack to get anything out of it, and without gaining life.

Immortal Servitude can be nice. 5 mana for your 2 drops back and 4 mana for the 1 drops. Maybe adding more one drops would make it (Immortal Servitude ) more efficient. I've always liked Young Wolf and Strangleroot Geist , but I'm not sure if that would take away from the theme of your deck too much.

I really like Dash Hopes , but again, this is a bit odd of a suggestion. I usually try to use it as a more tempo-ish card rather than relying on it as a counter. You're playing an aggro deck, so the 5 life ding would be nice, but you'd have to have mana open for it.. Does your hand empty quickly?

Anyways, I like the deck a lot, especially Killing Wave , Vengevine , and Bloodghast . If you splashed blue, I'd recommend Remand to trip your opponent and draw you a card (more fuel). I guess though, your deck can refuel with the graveyard and re-occurring creatures. So maybe Immortal Servitude would help then?

Lastly, maybe Pithing Needle would help against Relic of Progenitus and various other types of shenanigans in Modern?

Cool deck! +1

Does Viscera Seer do much for you? Wouldnt Gnawing Zombie , Jinxed Idol , Bubbling Cauldron be more worthwhile in the spot? I know the difference is paying to sacrifice and not, but do you really sac the first few turns anyway?

If you add gnawing zombie, i would add in something besides Geralf's Messenger because the coming in tapped is kinda a buzzkill, Kitchen Finks , Nantuko Husk , Quest for the Gravelord might give you more options for the slot

all in all looks quite fun and i think we would have a fun time facing our two sac decks against each other :-)

Fauna Shaman , while not a zombie, has great synergy with Vengevine and Bloodghast , serves as a great tutor, and can be a budget replacement for Liliana of the Veil .

A few fetches, if you can afford them, work great to help recur Bloodghast . You could take out a few Swamps for Verdant Catacombs .

I run a Modern Dredgevine/Reanimator deck:

Instead of using Diregraf Ghoul , I'd use Slitherhead just so that when it goes into the graveyard, you can beef up Lotleth Troll even more with Slitherhead 's 0 mana scavenge, but if you do decide to run Immortal Servitude or something like it, I'd stick with Diregraf Ghoul so that you can keep sacrificing him. But even if you do use Immortal Servitude , Slitherhead can still be a pretty good 1 drop. This is a great deck though, and I'm going to try to build it once I get the money for the playset of Vengevine s and Gravecrawler s.

I feel like Dreg Mangler and Slitherhead would give you a bit of recovery after a wipe.

Still seems fun :-)

I really like these decks! The only thing I would suggest would be more ways to dump things into your graveyard, like splashing red for Faithless Looting. Also consider using dredge now that Golgari Grave-Troll is unbanned and can get you six cards farther in your deck. Stinkweed Imp might also be playable here. Overall, I like the deck! Keep working on it!

First off, I love this deck - its very much my style of play. One question and one suggestion:

Q: What do you do against decks that lock down or exile graveyards?

S: Due to Mana costs, I would tweak the deck by dropping one of the Geralf's Messenger and replacing it with a fourth Abrupt Decay. Optionally, ditch the Messengers altogether and add in two Fauna Shaman to go with that extra Decay.
