After several years of playing ur aggro I have finally decided to learn the nuances of the game and try my hand at mastering golgari midrange. Nothing new or revolutionary here. Just my own flavor of GBx. After playing it in a build I've net decked against the players in my regular play group I've made changes to tune it more to the decks they play. It's a very versitile deck, in that if I'm playing against THE meta, I can swap out cards that have less value and create alternate versions of the same deck without changing the core cards. I'm not a huge fan of scooze but if gy decks are top meta it's always good to have him around and he helps deal with annoying flashback/unearth cards as well. Other than that, I'll most likely end up pulling him completely for the majority of my playgroup matches and running something else. I don't like a late game dark confidant so I only run 3 and put a thrun in its place because he's a pain to deal with and if they are playing a lot of removal then I have a solid creature I can traverse for. Mishra give me perfect information on any library during the top decking and also helps me out grind most decks, especially with good Ole Bob on the battlefield. I run 6 disruption spells unless I'm playing something that doesn't seem to be effected by it much. Instead of ghost quarters I run field of ruins because why should they be the only people getting a land after I destroy one of their's? It only really slows down decks that run urza lands but it's nice to be able to pop it and revolt Fatal Push or help pump goyft or even get an extra clue with a tracker. Eternal Witness was an iffy choice but I'm going to stick with it for the time being as it helps me get a creature back in late game when I've found that I need it most... Especially if by some chance I couldn't regenerate thrun at the time or got too excited with a goyft and walked right into a push or lightning bolt. There's lots of interaction and plenty of lines to play. It can hang with most decks although it only has a couple of really good match ups... But can win against anything with the right side board and knowledge.
