found a land that works perfectly for you...and hates on any creature based deck. The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale

and some thoughts for some enchantments. Ardent Plea (+1,+1 and cascade sounds like a win for no creature deck), Flickering Ward, Daily Regimen (for the repeatable boost), Chromatic Armor for full color protection. Possibly Cathedral of War for the same reasons as Ardent Plea. May look at Thassa, God of the Sea for the scry and unblockable abilities.

This is not quite UW Tron....lol. Cool deck all the same.

Am I missing something? How is this Tron?

Hi! I like the idea and I think Tallowisp is perfect for your deck. Also Battle Mastery could be not bad

Tallowisp is a cool concept, as in an opening hand it means I could play it on turn 2 so I'm guaranteed whatever enchantment I want when I play Geist of turn 3. I'll throw it in the maybeboard for now. Only concern is that it will only trigger when I play him, and that I normally prefer to leave mana open on turn 1 and 2 for counters / draws.

Thanks PunchingCrab :)

+1. This is probably the deck I would make for Tiny Leaders, and the build looks really sleek.
Maybe consider Flickering Ward or Cho-Manno's Blessing instead of some creatures? I've never really played the format

hubatish, I've thought of Cho-Manno's Blessing but the concern comes from the idea that I don't want to use it for blue or white as it will make other enchantments fall off, and the Hexproof Geist already has means it's usually not as necessary (and still wont prevent sacrifice effects). Therefore if anything I'm using it offensively to prevent blockers, but 4 other enchantments in the deck already do that, (Aqueous Form, Spectral Flight, Spirit Mantle, and Steel of the Godhead). Flickering Ward goes along the same path, the protection simply isn't super necessary on a Hexproof body.

I've considered cutting down on creatures too, but the majority of them serve important purposes, or allow me an alternate target for enchantments if I'm hit with Meddling Mage or Nevermore targeting Geist. The only creature I can honestly consider cutting at the moment is Wall of Denial, and even that is hard due to how much time it provides me, especially in conjunction with Maze of Ith.

Appreciate the +1 and the input though, and hope if you build it you enjoy it as much as I do. (P.S. buy the promo art Geist. So worth.)

MYSTICAL TUTOR.

February 11, 2015 8:14 p.m.

USNVox says... #10

Freeble,

So here's my thing about Mystical Tutor, because it's been suggested before. It's a fantastic card, no doubt. But does it need a spot? What instant or sorcery in my deck do I need so critically that I need a tutor for it, that still puts it on top so I don't have it immediately? It guarantees I get whatever counter or removal spell I need, sure, but what comes out? Do I remove Wall of Denial to take it's spot to get more reliability at 1 mana more? I'm open to ideas.

Aefinn says... #11

Tallowisp for tutoring. Drogskol Captain for sure.

February 12, 2015 4:23 a.m.

USNVox says... #12

Luutamo, Tallowisp I can understand, as making sure I always get a specific enchantment is super useful, but why Drogskol Captain? He's 3 mana to give Geist what? +1/+1? He already has hexproof, so that parts useless. If he himself had hexproof too sure, but it's only 'other' creatures. Flying is nice, but as an attacker with evasion both Invisible Stalker and True-Name Nemesis do the job better.

Thanks, USNVox

Update:

USNVox says... #13

Currently considering shifting Tallowisp and Drogskol Captain to mainboard, with Spellskite and Snapcaster Mage coming out, to increase Tallowisp triggers from Drogskol, Geist, and Eidolon of Countless Battles for more consistency.

Concerned with potential reduction in protective/counteraction capabilities.

More to follow.

Okay, for some reason I saw that you would have had more spirit creatures in this deck. But yeah, with this build there is no that big of a need for Drogskol.

Currently trying to decide if/where Vapor Snag and Stubborn Denial fit into this deck.

Denial potentially replacing Spell Pierce, and Snag replacing Mental Misstep?

Thoughts?

I'm not a fan of Vapor Snag. I actually have been loving both Unexpectedly Absent and Repeal in my version of this deck. Stubborn Denial is a nice thought, but just like Spell Snare, every deck is going to have multiple targets for it.

Last part was meant for Mental Misstep.

USNVox says... #18

unassigned, thanks for your comment and for checking out the deck. :)

I appreciate the suggestions, and I think I'm definitely leading towards Stubborn Denial coming in in place of Spell Pierce, especially because even super early, the Angel token trigger's the Ferocious component.

Unexpectedly Absent and Repeal are both interesting, unfortunately I'm not so much a fan of X-cost cards, as having to devote a significant amount of mana to anything isn't really something this deck can do right now, as it utilizes all of it's available mana usually on enchantments or response cards.

Don't forget rapid hybridization good removal and you can hybridize your angelntoken in response to the exile trigger

The Spell Pierce and Stubborn Denial choice will have it's ups and downs depending on the situation. So you could make a case for either really. I'll try out S D in my S P slot and see how much I like it.

Unexpectedly Absent and Repeal have been invaluable with getting rid of Ezuri, troublesome enchantments and the like. It should definitely be something to consider for the same reasons that you are holding up counterspell mana.

Here's the list I've been running. I finally posted it yesterday. My local shop has a very wide open meta: Ezuri, Kira Merfolk, Jaya Burn, BUG Control, Shu Yun Aggro and combo, Kami Storm, Jenara Zoo, various Sliver builds, various Infect builds, etc. I've tried to augment my sideboard plan to have the maximum flexibility to handle the field.

have put in a few games now with my Geist TL deck. Mental Misstep is HUGE! play it. Unexpectedly Absent has been nice as a SB option for me for the more troublesome, but found it to be too mana intensive for mainboard. Thank for the suggestions on my deck! +1

Testing Spell Snare out for Mental Misstep to see which has more frequent applications. The ability to use Misstep with life with no mana open also provides healthy response options.

no one plays around Mental Misstep. well done with the name WOtC! turn 1 Inquisition of Kozilek, Sensei's Divining Top or a mana dork (etc)? boom. even late game it does work countering Spell Snare etc. with the format heavily favoring the most aggressive starts that means 1 drops are usually 25-45% of the opponent's spells. This deck sits at 40.6% 1 drops at the time of this post. best of luck to you! keep us posted with your results.
