I'd recommend at least 1 Vault of the Archangel. It won't screw with your mana base THAT much...

Pride Guardian would also be a good addition, first turn drop and you gain 3 life everytime you block, combine this with Rest for the Weary on turn 2 you can have over 30 life if you go 2nd! True Conviction will also be a really good card to have. In causal play I saw someone use mirrodin crusader (For some reason the data base cannot find this card) with True Conviction and they had 176 health whenever the opponent finally quit.

Cool Deck! Half of the decks I see posted are of dudes creating decks for their girl friends. I've helped make a couple for mine gf even. I think girlfriends' attitudes toward Magic make it an even more exciting game. (Even if it's all about pretty cards and kitties). It's nice to have a break from standard competitive decks once and a while. And try Beacon of Immortality for some mad life gain!
February 16, 2012 8:51 p.m.
Beacon of Immortality + False Cure = win. Just thought I'd point that out in case you find you can get to 8 mana.
February 16, 2012 11:32 p.m.
Beacon targets a player, so you could make your opponent lose.
I feel that you should attempt to make this deck modern due to the majority of modern legal cards.
+1 cus i was gonna do this for modern and more girls need to play :P

Wow. Thank you for all the feedback and interest in the deck. :) I still have to get more of the cards, but this deck is going to be built somegime soon! From your feedback though, i have considered a few minor changes, and have decided to keep it Modern as Gotmarth suggested.
After a bit of playtesting, ive noticed that it is a bit hard to have 2 swamps by turn 3 for the Vampire Nighthawk, so im thinking of removing him.
Vault of the Archangel has been mentioned a few times, so im going to try running 2 of them and see how it goes. The same with Ajani's Pridemate, while at first i was a bit eh with the inclusion, i think there might be enough life instances from lifelink attacks for it to be worthwhile.
Also, ive noticed that Cradle of Vitality essentially doubles creature's attacks and generates heaps more life, so ill add another one of those.
Now all i have to do ia update the sideboard to be modern legal. Beacon of Immortality will go in there, but im not sure what else should go there either...
Thanks for all the feedback again guys! My girlfriend and i never expected this much attention for the deck :3

Big cost cards here. Pestilence Demon+Soul Link=Mega fun. Celestial Force+Boon Reflection+Beacon of Immortality+Celestial Mantle. You can Life gain like crazy.

That Soul Link+Pestilence Demon at minimum you tap 5 and deal five damage to a minimum of 3 targets (Yourself, The Demon, and Your opponent) You loose 5 life, and gain 15 which is... 10 life profit plus maybe a Sanguine Blood on the field, dishes out another 15 to your opponent for a staggering 20 points of life lost for your opponent and you only had to take 5 damage.
That is the minimum number of targets, land tapped, and damage dealt. Think of the maximum amount you could deal here.

funny, is entering the battle field a activated ability for Necrotic Ooze?
February 18, 2012 2:04 a.m.
Interesting idea Jokernaught, except the big issue with that is, as you said, the cost of doing all that. It may be too late in the game to reap the full benefit of that combo.
theonyc, not sure how that's relevant to the deck but no, "enters the battlefield" is a state-based effect, not an activated ability.
Mpz5: Originally that was a card I had looked at but I thought benefited a mono white deck more than anything, but considering how my deck is now pretty much majority white, it might just work. I'll playtest it over Suture Priest and see how it runs.
February 18, 2012 2:27 a.m.
My modern white life gain runs 4 of hem and I often gain 15+ life the second turn of the game. It's pretty sick.

If you don't feel strange about using older cards then Serra Avatar is an AMAZING card to use. Especially with Celestial Mantle.
I'm a girl who plays magic... lol

@Crazyanimecookie He's trying to keep it modern.
@Redsplicer3 It's Mirran Crusader.
