You could always just run a burn spell like Rift Bolt...maybe one goblin wardriver?

Maybe... that 5 damage can be huge. It's like having 2 more Goblin Grenade .

what about Warren Instigator ? also what works for me is Goblin Arsonist , into Goblin Grenade . i like the Blood Moon idea, what about running Goblin King for the mountain walk ability then as well in your sideboard?

I had a playset of Warren Instigator in the deck but it really isn't worth it. It doesn't do anything till third turn and I can dump my hand fast enough. It just slowed me down. It is not a bad card I just cannot find a slot for it. Goblin King is good but at three mana I cannot get it there without slowing the deck down. I can consistently win on fourth turn and sometimes pull a third turn win, if the cards do not help that then they are not going in the deck. The king could be useful as a sideboard card against decks with a fair amount of creatures and mountains but the +1/+1 isn't enough. Besides I would be putting in two playsets of 3 mana drops, too slow. Goblin Arsonist isn't good enough for a slot, it does have its uses it doesn't make the cut.

I love the deck! I run few more creatures in mine http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/29-08-14-gobs-of-goblins/ I am thinking of putting Krenko's Command in now.

How do you feel about Simian Spirit Guide . I have been thinking about trying it.

I'd swap them if I can find something better. I do however like being able to play a Blood Moon or Goblin Chieftain on turn 2

I keep imagining putting two Goblin Guide out on the first turn.

I was interested in making a goblin deck... but with the playtesting I've done with this one, I noticed the deck is screwed if goblin guide can't stay on the field or if you don't get him at all.

Goblin Guide is not needed to win. Several games are won without it. You could drop it for another one mana drop goblin and do fine.

interesting, what else would you put in as a one drop goblin? I feel goblin guide is the best choice?

Goblin Cohort and Tattermunge Maniac are not too bad. Goblin Guide is better but it is nowhere near the most important card in the deck. Goblin Grenade probably is, Goblin Bushwhacker and Shared Animosity are also very important. Hell, Legion Loyalist is more useful than guide.

+1 man! Looks similar to my deck ( How can I hold all these goblins!?! ). If you are still going to drop Flame Slash , you could try other common sideboard tech like Torpor Orb (pod/spinter twin decks) or Pithing Needle (annoying activated abilities and planeswalkers).

I love this deck. I got really big into this tribal theme after I looked at Goblin Rabblemaster for the first time for standard goofiness. I didn't know your opinions on Manamorphose in this deck, but I made my own rendition of this with it in it, and I feel that it helps accelerate through the deck into better threats. My rendition is Modding Gobbies if you want to leave your opinion, and my hilarious standard shenanigans goblin tribal is GOBLINS GALORE (Post Rotation). +1!

Instead of Thunderous Wrath have you thought of Reckless Abandon ?
September 17, 2014 3:41 p.m.
jasinatael says... #17
@ Portmp Reckless Abandon isn't modern legal. I would be nice though.
@ Madroxasmon30 I had never considered Manamorphose . It could work really well and I don't know of any real down side.

Ah that stinks, would have been a good way to finish opps. I'm not in love with Thunderous Wrath (only because of when I open with it). I'm playtesting Searing Blaze at the moment. So far it's been running well, I also thought Forked Bolt might be an option although it's sorcery speed
Side note, I ran into a blue white red midrange deck which gave me problems. Aside from that, great success playing this deck.

Since you're doing the tribal goblin thing do you think Mudbutton Clanger would be good in this?
September 19, 2014 3:55 p.m.
jasinatael says... #20
There are better one mana drops then Mudbutton Clanger . 2/2 for one would be good if it was a 2/2 every turn.
September 23, 2014 9:52 p.m.
what do you think about Jeering Instigator ? or Goblin Warchief ?
October 6, 2014 10:15 a.m.
Madroxasmon30 says... #23
@yaboskie instigator is not fast enough, and Goblin Warchief is not modern legal.

Guttural Response really depends on the local meta. It could be very useful against certain combo decks.

How do you play vs Control-y decks? Some games they end up blowing all their cards and I have enough to kill them but sometimes I just run out of steam....

You may be right about the Thunderous Wrath but what else would I only want one card of?
