Also with the surge in delver decks, any general tips?

November 14, 2014 5:10 a.m.

A truly amazing deck! I really enjoyed reading all the comments and suggestions, they gave me a TON of ideas for my own build. I had been reluctant to buy Shared Animosity without actually playing with it first, but after hearing how well it's done for you, I will have no problem paying for them. If you don't mind, I'd love some advice on my own build: Gobbo Wobbo. In my experience, Goblin Rabblemaster is just too slow for this type of build. He is INCREDIBLE if they can't kill him right away, but I was also disappointed in the results from "attack each turn, my Goblin brethren". I will be replacing the two Rabblers and two Quests in my build in favor of the Animosities. +1,000,000

Sorry for the long break away from the site. traceurling I don't have a problem with delver decks. They are too slow. You are the beatdown. They don't do much in the early game, just another control deck. Aggro beats control. We play too many cards a turn to be countered or vapor snagged. Just spend your hand and hope for the best. Don't get stuck trying to counter act what they do, you can't. Just do 20 damage. I have more problems with combo decks than control, of course that is why I have a sideboard.

I would take out 2x Thunderous Wrath for 2 more Mountains. More mountains increases your chance of getting 3-4 lands earlier in the game. Thunderous Wrath is a risk and is not a worthful one at that. Also, Mogg War Marshal is too slow for the deck I'd reccomend putting it on the sideboard for board wipes and maindecking Dragon Fodder.

Other than that your build is solid.+1 from me

Thunderous Wrath is the least worthy card in the deck but it can win you games. As long as you don't have it in your starting hand, which is unlikely since I only run 2, it is a great draw. One mana for 5 damage is where it is at. I do consider dumping it for something better but I am unsure what.

The Mountain count. I have tested this deck for a year. 18 is the right number. You never need to see 4 lands on the table. You need 3. You should have 2 in the opening hand and will likely pull 1, and only 1, by your 3rd turn. 20 is too many.

Mogg War Marshal is better than the other token generators. You feed him to a Goblin Grenade or use him to block. If the game is going bad you can even pay his echo. If Goblin Chieftain is on the table he is even better than Dragon Fodder or Krenko's Command. Ever get hit with a board wipe? Its nice to still have a guy on the table after a Wrath of God or Pyroclasm.

I guess your right about Mogg War Marshal. I still think that you should add 2 more Mountains. From testing my own goblin build, I know that it really sucks to only have 2 lands on turn 3+. This happens to me a lot and I run 20 lands.

About about 2-4 Cavern of Souls?

4 is too many if you consider that only 40% of you deck is Creatures and it can really screw with spell casting....1 or 2 is a good balance

Good answer traceurling. It gets brought up pretty often. I am just too cheap to buy them. Its not really a big deal though, counters are not that much of a problem.

It still might be good to pick them up sooner rather than later. And counters could come more relevant since the new banlist came out. :)

Its nice to drop a cheap goblin to bait the counter before dropping a spell like Goblin Grenade. The counters hurt more against none creatures spells than the goblins. I should get a couple, maybe someday.

So for a non-modern goblin aggro deck what would you do? Especially, what cards would you replace for Goblin Warchief in this deck you made? Anybody can help me here.

Nonmodern? Would you be looking at Legacy decks then?http://www.mtgtop8.com/archetype?a=18

You know what, modern is a 10 year time frame. I think I will just stick with those cards XD.

There's really nothing to replace Goblin Warchief...Chieftain is one of the better Haste enablers/Lords but nothing can match Warchief's ability to make your Goblins cost less so that you can actually play some of the more expensive ones...Aether Vial is worth a shot if youre going a slower route

Quade12X this really isn't the place to discuss legacy goblin decks. If you make one I will comment on it with suggestions.

Mardu Scout might be better than Thunderous Wrath. Ever tested him?

Maybe Collateral Damage if one of your guys will die to combat and you don't have a Goblin Grenade in your hand

I have a couple of good ideas. First off first strike is amazing and having an instant that can give it to two creatures with a buff for one mana is pretty cool. Try replacing Thunderous Wrath with Coordinated Assault. This guy would also work well with Mogg Sentry. Mogg Sentry can maybe be 2 copies and be replaced with 2 Krenko's Command. Both these cards are one mana.

MTGTCG, Mardu Scout is just coming out and looks good.

I've also considered Collateral Damage for when I need some extra burn/mini Grenade he definitely is worth testing...Mardu Scout at a glance I'm not sold but thinking again 3/1 for 2 is pretty good...probably won't dash a lot but he might have a place in this deck

January 23, 2015 10:54 a.m.

jasinatael says... #22

Coordinated Assault is not worth it. Yeah its cheap but the couple of extra damage isn't going to amount to much. As for first strike, it is a good ability but it is already provided by Legion Loyalist. I am not feeling the Collateral Damage either. Its like a poor man's lightning bolt. I think you would be better off with a Shock and keeping your goblin. It could have its uses but I don't think it would really help much.

jasinatael says... #23

Mardu Scout could use some playtesting. I do not have much hope for it though. The dash ability would work well with Foundry Street Denizen but I think there are better ways to spend two mana on my second and third turn.

Ever thought about splashing black. It gains you access to cards like Spike Jester, Terminate, Rain of Gore, Dismember, Thoughtseize, Rakdos Charm, and Earwig Squad.

Quade12X says... #25

Well I just kind of felt Legion Loyalist wasn't enough first strike power so I thought Coordinated Assault would help out a bit. First strike is like a better mountain walk.
