HOW TO BEAT THE TIER 1 and 2 Decks
Scapeshift- Uses Scapeshift to put a bunch of Mountains on the table and does a bunch of damage with Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. Likely has a few counters and lightning bolts. Have to outrun it. Sideboard in Blood Moon and drop 3 Lightning Bolts.
Twin- Uses Splinter Twin or Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with Deceiver Exarch or Pestermite to go infinite. Has counters and lightning bolts. Watch for creatures with flash. Go all out on the first two turns, kill the above creatures at all cost. Sideboard in Dismember and Spellskite. Drop four Krenko's Command, two Goblin Chieftain, and 2 Shared Animosity.
Affinity- First round try to outrun it. Sideboard in Shattering Spree, drop the Krenko's Command. Hope to go first because that makes this match-up. Later games watch for Whipflare.
Delver- Kill the Young Pyromancer, its the biggest threat. They has lots of removal but shouldnt have any mass removal. Play as fast as possible. Sideboard in Spellskite and like always, drop the Krenko's Command.
Merfolk- Just outrun it. Shouldnt be too hard. Sideboard in Dismember and drop Krenko's Command. Save the Dismember for Master of Waves.
Zoo- Like always, Goblin Bully is the beatdown. Sideboard in Blood Moon and drop Krenko's Command. I don't see these decks much anymore are they still around?
Infect- Wait to burn their creatures after they pump them so your kill spell resolves and kills it first. Sideboard in Dismember and drop Krenko's Command.

Hordeling Outburst might be a more costly but also much more explosive alternative to Krenko's Command. Like I suggested before, you could also use Mardu Scout. Goblin Wardriver might be a good replacement. Mogg Fanatic and Goblin Rabblemaster are also some good cards to look into. You could also try more burn. Personally, Krenko's Command is good in this deck because it synergizes well with any card that favors quantity over quality like Shared Animosity and Goblin Bushwhacker. But I guess your the one testing the deck.

I forgot to mention that krenkos command also synergizes well with. Foundry Street Denizen

Yeah, I've actually been pretty satisfied with Krenko's Command in my deck. As MTGTCG said, it's a great turn two play off a turn 1 Denizen. But then again, so is Mogg War Marshal to the same effect (actually Marshal is better). But at the same time, it's a terrible topdeck unless you have a Chieftain who's still breathing. I do like it because you can expend one of the tokens for a Grenade (or Collateral Damage) and still have another token from it. I think Hordeling Outburst would be a downgrade from Command, personally though; that's not what you need on turn three. If you're set on taking out the Commands, I think the best bet would be more burn OR possibly the Mardu Scout. I have yet to test with him, but he does seem attractive for the build (not the worst thing in the world to topdeck either).

I use to run Goblin Wardriver but it seemed lack luster and drew quite a bit of hate. I will try out Mardu Scout but it seems more like a back-up plan than a support card to the main strategy.
I also see Hordeling Outburst as too expensive. Maybe a little more burn would be good but I am afraid that Collateral Damage would be a terrible draw after a board wipe.

Hordeling Outburst would be good as a two of replacement of Krenkos Command. This will gurantee that there won't be many games that it lands in your opening hand. Topdecking this card once you have got a chieftain or animosity down is insane. I think you should try out a 2-2 split between this and Krenkos Command. About burn, some lists run Stoke the Flames for its convoke ability.

Do you feel 18 lands is a little tight when you board in BMs and end up with 11 3-drops?

Not really. If you are playing Blood Moon the game is going to last a few more rounds. As long as you hit three lands it works alright. You could drop a chief, an animosity, and 2 commands though to better balance it.
On a similar topic; Hordeling Outburst is too slow for this deck. You get nothing out of it until the fourth turn. I am not going to run them.
When it comes to this deck you really have to choose which 3 drop you will play. If you side in Blood Moon then you play it. Otherwise you look at the board and decide. Sometimes Shared Animosity is better and sometimes Goblin Chieftain is. Hordeling Outburst is not going to win the game for you.
For every additional 3 drop that goes in this deck it is like one less card you can play on the 1st or 2nd turn.

I am saying that as a 2of, hordeling outburst is a much better topdeck in mid to late game scenarios than is Krenkos Command. Contrary to what you say, you will rarely win games on the 4th or 5th turn. There are always blockers, removal, and life gain to get in your way. A krenkos command will not be as good as a topdeck after you have had your board cleared of goblins as Outburst is.

Late game a Hordeling Outburst would be better than a Krenko's Command but what would be better on turn 2? If you feel the the game will persist into longer matches than there are better 3 drops than Hordeling Outburst.
You can rebuild this entire deck. Run Warren Instigator, Krenko, Mob Boss, and Goblin Rabblemaster. I tried it and I found that I won less. This deck does win quickly as it is. Removal slows it down but only by a turn or two. Blockers should not be a problem, this deck has removal too. Life gain is rare in my meta. If it is common where you play then change the sideboard.

Okay I really want to know what you do if you don't get a Legion Loyalist in your hand? Also just a little curious, but what is the latest you survived in game and won?

If I don't have Legion Loyalist in my hand then I play something else. It really isn't a big deal. I think I talked about this before. It is a very useful card but nowhere near the best. That title likely goes to Goblin Grenade.
I don't have any idea how long my longest win took. I have had a few that went a long time. I once played a guy and we both got mana flooded. I think I had like 10 mountains on the field when it ended. I am not sure though. Matches with burn decks can go long if they focus on killing the creatures and not your life total.

I just discovered a good scapeshift sideboard Goblin. Zo-Zu the Punisher. Or just if you want to put pressure on your opponent for needing mana for bigger cards.

So does what are opinions on Spikeshot Elder? I am debating at least testing it for sideboard because I have a lot of problems with seeing a ton of control decks that just sit there and kill my goblins. I figured Spikeshot Elder would help me get an edge through being an extra burn spell for 3 every turn.

How do you feel about 2x Mutavault in the deck? I think it is a great card for late game situations.
February 7, 2015 2:42 p.m.
traceurling says... #19
Tried 1x Mutavault, really fucked with my casting when I only had Mountain Mutavault...add in a Cavern of Souls and it's not that good...the problem with Goblins is we can't really afford to goto late-er game in this build so preferably all or nothing. Merfolk and Faeries are capable of still being a strong tribal late game because they have blue mana, red just isn't historically known for late game...

Maybe its been mentioned before but what about Quest for the Goblin Lord its fairly easy to have 5 counters by t3 in this deck

I think it's hard to tell without testing it, but it does slow down the tempo of a turn 1 Foundry Street Denizen or Goblin Guide and by the time it gets to turn 3/4 you could be playing a Shared Animosity...but it is possible it deals good damage so idk need to test it

As far as Quest for the Goblin Lord, it is a great damage multiplier, but as you said it is a HUGE loss in tempo. I used to want to drop it turn 1, turn 2 War Marshal (for 3 counters by turn 3), then drop Krenko's Command on turn 3 for the 5th counter. It does great when it works out like that, but it's basically a loss of your first turn, and literally the WORST thing to topdeck at any stage of the game. You need to have it out on turn 1, no exceptions, or else it is just terrible. It doesn't hold a candle to Shared Animosity, so I would advise against Quest, your deck is much too fast for it.

I tried Quest for the Goblin Lord a long time ago. It is too slow. It fails to develop the board early game when you really need it and if you don't play it first turn than it is worthless.

Well guys I am going to test this deck tonight in about 15 hours with the latest changes. Any last minute suggestions on something to playtest? One card at a time though.
