I was being joking about Palisade Giant Don't put him in lol. Also, What gotmilk@me said would be best as well for Sanguine Bond that is, Underworld Connections is just too useful for though card draws.

Hmm, Underworld Connections is something I would like to test when I get a chance. As I mentioned previously, I just moved to a new place and started a new job and haven't had a chance to play it this past week-ish. Once I'm able to test Gift of Immortality a little more, then I'll try out Underworld Connections. Sanguine Bond has been very powerful in this deck so I am reluctant to take it out. I'd rather take out Gift of Immortality if it doesn't work well enough. We'll see.
Thanks for the suggestions!

I feel like Hero's Downfall is too good to not run in this deck. Also I would consider Devour Flesh . It would be great to do to yourself!

how well does this do against an Esper control deck? I'd imagine the Verdicts would ruin your game plan a little... I'm interested to know how you deal with threats like that, and interested in playing a version of your deck as well, if you don't mind xD

great deck +1 from me if you could look at my new orzhov deck and tell me how it is that would be greathttp://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/i-just-want-you-to-know-to-rest-in-peace/

ckdude: I've tried running more removal but it takes away from the deck's synergy and really slows it down. If I ever need more though I'll definitely consider Devour Flesh . I use Far / Away to sac the Rig sometimes.
LordRuler: Esper control is actually one of the best match-ups for this deck. I'm not saying it can't be beaten by Esper control or other control decks, but it hasn't yet lost to another Esper deck. Trading Post offers some recursion for Volatile Rig . I think my deck is a bit control-ish but because I have a few more creatures and some methods of damage they can't stop easily (Rig exploding, Sanguine Bond , Boros Reckoner reflecting damage, etc., I tend to come out on top against them. Also, go ahead and play it! The more the merrier. +1 if you like it, and make sure to let me know if you make a different take on the deck.
gotmilk@me: Thanks! I think you forgot to hit the +1. :) I'll definitely take a look at your deck.

Why play Boros Reckoner in a deck that contains: 4 Watery Grave 4 Temple of Deceit.
Otherwise by testing your deck I noticed of a thing it lacks the consistency. The parties are not all the same to the point that I find it very unstable.
November 17, 2013 2:10 a.m.
Boros Reckoner works fine in here. I may take out 2 Temple of Deceit (maybe replace with a Plains and an Island?) to avoid my lands coming in tapped too often, but so far my mana hasn't been a problem.
The deck isn't meant to do the exact same thing every time. I made the deck around Volatile Rig , but if I were to make the deck completely dependent on the Rig, then I would have a lot of dead cards in my hand and on the field when I have no Rig. I built the deck to perform well in the absence of Volatile Rig , and then to take advantage of the Rig if he chooses to appear. Around 1/3 of my games have been won without a Rig ever appearing. I like diverse decks.
Relying on only one or two cards/strategies is a poor choice, in my opinion, unless it's an extremely strong and reliable strategy. Obviously, any strategy with Volatile Rig will never be 100% reliable, so I put in safeguards. :) Thanks for the comment!

Wow this is really a nice brew of deck. In this limited format of standard, cards like Volatile Rig and Trading Post are given chance to shine. Good brew and congrats to the FNM. +1 for you mate :)

I love this combo so much i squeezed it into my rakdos deck witch works surprisingly well +1 for seeing a combo that no one else saw.

fredfabian29 and Eskmohunter: Thanks for the comments and +1s! I'm glad so many other people like the deck, it's been a ton of fun for me. I usually really dislike Standard due to how similar decks tend to be so I was glad that I could come up with a deck I have a lot of fun with and feel unique with. I try to make all my decks unique; I should put my other non-EDH decks online sometime. A hint at one of them; Eldrazi Spawn + Deathrender + ??? = Profit. Or, alternatively, Eldrazi Spawn + Mass Polymorph .

I love original decks, you have my approval. I just wish it wasn't so expensive so I could make my own. Hmm, maybe I could make a budget version? Ehh, whatever. Now you just need a pimpin' coin to flip, so people know they have no chance of beating you.
+1

Araganor: You're absolutely right. I need a better coin. All I have so far, swag-wise, is a single Foil Volatile Rig (of course, if he dies, and I play another one, I swap the non-foil with the foil so the foil is always in play, which everyone is always ok with becuase it's so beautiful). You could try proxying the cards on magiccards.info to play with, if your group doesn't mind. The proxies come out the exactly right size to fit in a sleeve. That's how my friends and I tend to test our decks so we don't buy a deck and then end up replacing half of it.
Thanks for the comment and the +1! (though I think your forgot to hit the +1 :) )

I just wanted to say that the Volatile Rig combo just won me 2nd place in a local tournament and 50 bucks so woot! your epic idea is well quite funny against an esper player
November 17, 2013 7 p.m.
Haha, fantastic! Glad to hear it! Good to know that the Rig is serving others as well as it is me.
Do you mean as an Esper player, you find it funny? Or that it's funny to play against Esper players with it?
November 17, 2013 10:12 p.m.
Oh and also, since I gave you the idea, I require a $25 fee. Pay up. :D Haha

Its funny to use it against an esper player because they dont see it as a threat at first mostly as a joke till i hit them with a stupid combo of Boros Reckoner and it for 12 :P and ill pay you in an imaginary +2.
November 17, 2013 10:31 p.m.
Araganor: Good idea, or I could just Thoughtseize him and make him discard his money.
Eskmohunter: Yeah, as I've stated before, this deck does pretty well against control, especially Esper control. Because of the colors people usually assume it's a control deck and play against it as such, and are then thrown for quite the twist. I think part of the reason some people have difficulties playing against it is because they assume it's going to be like some other popular Standard deck. They see the colors and think "Oh, Control". Then they see Boros Reckoner and think "Oh, Control that thinks it can use Reckoner just because it's a good card. Not a very well-made deck." Then Trading Post and/or Volatile Rig hits the field and they get confused and remain confused the rest of the game. And oftentimes on game two they spend the whole time planning on ways to stop the Rig doing its thing, and it never shows up and they're killed by Trading Post /Obzedat, Ghost Council + Sanguine Bond or something similar. I love the diversity, and I love even more that it works so well.
