A budget and very fair version of my favorite EDH deck - Geth, Lord of the Vault. The only cards in here that are more than $10 TCG-Mid are mana-producing cards - that is how important they are.

The idea is to ramp and sweep the board. I've taken most of the complexity and flourish out - this is very utilitrian, but extremely flexible with Geth being able to use off-color creatures that you sweep away. Now by having ramped into big mana territory after the sweeper, you use your opponent's creatures and artifacts against them with Geth. You can easily soup this deck up, but its really fun and fair for a reasonable cost where you play a commander no one plays (and more should). It's actually about 75% as effective of my expensive Geth build.

The only thing you need to watch out for is GY recursion decks as your mill can fuel them. You can easily put in spot removal GY hate if you so desire. I suggest Crypt Incursion, Withered Wretch, and Shred Memory. Bojuka Bog is going against the grain but can be fine too.

This went from a 'cheap' version to a TRUE budget version. You can build this whole deck for less than $100, easily. And its good. And its fun. This deck is a solid 6 to 6.5 as it synergizes well with itself but plays essentially more expensive (mana-wise) cards instead of more efficient cards that are more expensive (dollar-wise). The plan is the same: ramp, board wipe, control the board as you draw and grow your manabase, and then turn the corner when you play Geth and start using your opponent's graveyards against them. You have plenty of recursion to get back all of your cards. Look for gems like Sins of the past where you can still pay Strive and Entwine costs and Scaretiller to get back your Cabal Stronghold - your poor main's Cabal Coffers - or ramp out excess swamps in hand with it and tap shenanigans with Clock of Omens and Sol Ring or Worn Powerstone

For those who have the cards or are not on this strict a budget, start replacing cards with similar effects, but more efficient, more $costly$ cards; e.g. better rocks, tutors, boardwipes, lands.
