Overview:
Do you like playing gimmick decks? Do you like poisoning everything you touch and watching it slowly die like our social lives during the pandemic? Then this is the deck for you. The goal is pretty straightforward, you hit your enemies with cheap creatures before they can counter you and then you proliferate. Even if you hit them once, after 9 turns, it's over (remember, inflict gives players a poison counter, once it reaches 10 they lose). In this deck, I've included several kill cards to make your opponent's blockers a thing of the past and really help you speed things up. This deck is super easy to play, to the point, it's almost uninspiring. Bontu's Last Reckoning is there for later in the game when your opponents have more creatures on the field than you and you just need to proliferate a few more times, but feel free to sub that out for whatever board wipe tickles your fancy.
This deck tends to leave you without blockers quite often, but don't let that scare you. After the first few turns of poking your enemy with poison counters it's ok if your creatures die, since you have at least 4 different ways to proliferate. Perhaps a little unorthodox, but your life points are expendable in this strategy. Take a hit or two and continue to proliferate.
Of the decks in this series, this one probably has the easiest win condition, but similar to A Modern Mono Mill of Maddening Magnitude it can suffer in multiplayer games since you quickly become public enemy number 1. In order to survive I might recommend introducing some defender creatures into the deck like Wall of Bone or Wall of Souls. This will help you stay alive, but is not a perfect solution.
Side Board:
Various other kill cards for different types of decks you might fight. Liliana Vess is the planeswalker of choice for this deck, because nothing is more insulting than poisoning your opponent, killing their creatures with kill cards, and then summoning everything that died as a wall that you proliferate behind. Her plus 1 ability also helps keep your opponent at bay while you continue to poison them. I would suggest Liliana, Death Wielder since her abilities are more in line with the themes of the deck, but the 7 cast is kinda expensive and this deck is meant to kill your opponent quickly, maybe before you even get 7 mana if everything goes well.
Maybe Board:
There are some cheap substitutes for some of the other cards in this deck, and then there are the really expensive ones that jump the price up. For best results, sub in Hand of the Praetors to get the deck really moving. If you had to choose when purchasing cards between the Planeswalker or the Hands, choose the hands since they work with the theme better and actively benefit the deck.
Hope y'all enjoy, and feel free to leave recommendations or comments.
