When it comes to token commanders, Selesnya is usually the preferred route. My first token deck was Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and she was a blast. But she required alot of support cards as she makes no tokens on her own, populate ability aside. I worked on the deck for months to no avail, it was not explosive enough for my tastes. So I began the search for a new token powerhouse. The release of commander '16 was a ray of hope when I saw Ghave for the first time. Now the work begins anew--the task of perfecting my token strategy.

Step one is to ramp into any of the support cards that enable Ghave to make a plethora of little dudes. these include token doubling enchantments, +1/+1 counter amplifiers, or mana generators. After we have our support set up, we can arm the cannons and play Ghave, Guru of Spores. Once he comes out we can produce little dudes at the end of the previous player's turn. Once we flood the board with saprolings we can unleash our haymakers like Beastmaster Ascension, Triumph of the Hordes or the classic Craterhoof Behemoth. Swing for the kill. THe other option is there for simply draining our opponents out of the game with Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. There are a few infinites in the deck but they are impossible to avoid with this commander without neutering the deck.
