Ghave is a Saproling Commander.... Technically. Realistically he's a Combo Commander, he'll resolve a few cards, do a little maths, and win the game.

A few combos i'm playing here;

• Undying Creature + Ghave, Guru of Spores + Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar Can reach infinite mana/tokens

• Woodfall Primus + Sac Outlet + Juniper Order Ranger/Mikaeus, the Unhallowed/Cathars' CrusadeFor the destruction of all non-creatures and alot of other things depending on the sac outlet or the +1/+1 distributer.

• Triskelion + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed for infinite damage.

• Persist Creature + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Sac Outlet for infinite.... Whatever you like.

• Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest = Infinite Tapped dudes... But dudes none the less.

• Earthcraft + Ghave, Guru of Spores + Doubling Season Infinite 1/1s and mana by proxy.

So, due to the nature of Ghave, and some of the combo pieces, you mind find you've got the win on the board without trying to assemble it, if you look for it.

Something I need to note; Doubling Season is a fantastic card, which combos super well and makes ghave this powerhouse of +1/+1 Counters and 1/1 Saprolings, but it generates a lot of hate, and must be played carefully, if at all. Nath of the Gilt-Leaf falls prey to this as well, no one likes the prospect of having to lose that sweet Insurrection, Rite of Replication or Cruel Ultimatum they've been gripping all game.

Sweet Cards to use;

• Aura Shards is fantastic, you gotta Memnarch or Zedruu the Greathearted commander making a fuss? This'll shut them down, and could make you allies.

• Fecundity and Skullclamp will draw you closer to those combo pieces/tutors that you'll need to win the game. It sucks that Fecundity lets your opponents draw, but eh.

• Grave Pact/Dictate of Erebos Will not make you any friends... But you don't need friends if everyone has an empty board, bar the SaproKING.

• Bitter Ordeal/Blood ArtistSometimes you don't always have the win in the turn you combo, having infinite dudes doesn't matter if they don't have haste. Bitter Ordeal or Blood Artist will sort you out in those situations. Sacing Young Wolf 400 times is pretty sweet.
