This is a deck messing around with the lovely Tainted Remedy enchantment!

Initially I just wanted this deck to be full of ways to get Tainted Remedy on the battlefield and things that give my opponents a bunch of life, but there are actually surprisingly few ways to efficiently give your opponents life. Still, with, Tainted Remedy on the field, there are some spells that become pretty potent, like Laquatus's Champion and, one of my favorite cards in the deck, Wall of Shards, whose interaction with Tainted Remedy is the inspiration for making this deck. There are some very effective enchantments which grant your opponents life as well, such as Curse of Vitality, which you can curse yourself with to discourage your opponents from attacking you similar to the way Norn's Annex does (which would totally be in this deck if it was cheaper). The commander, Ghen, Arcanum Weaver, works particularly well with the enchantments Happily Ever After and especially Aria of Flame because you can get those ETB effects over and over. Sure, the counters will come off Aria of Flame, but this isn't exactly a spellslinger deck. Notably, this deck has no way to win with Happily Ever After's second ability. One of my favorite cards in this deck is Collapsing Borders, which can deal huge damage to every opponent on each of their turns. The only thing I don't like about it is that it kind of punishes budget decks more I think, which is kind of unethical. At least it also punishes green land ramp more too, so maybe it evens out.

All of these enchantments and repeatable ways to damage opponents at the same time made me think this deck could use some more group slug enchantments, like Hissing Miasma. It's important not to include any cards which flat-out say "your opponents cannot gain life," and I'm pretty sure you can figure out why.

There are also some cards which are basically auto-includes in any Ghen, Arcanum Weaver deck, namely Demonic Lore and Treacherous Blessing. These are basically the best ways to draw cards in this deck. I also think Battlemage's Bracers should go in any Ghen, Arcanum Weaver deck since you can sacrifice one enchantment to get back two, and the haste it grants is very nice as well.

It's important to mention that yes, Beacon of Immortality will in fact kill anyone on the spot. As a result it's one of the better cards to tutor up in this deck after Tainted Remedy, along with the previously mentioned Aria of Flame. The cards Benevolent Offering and Congregate can also potentially kill someone in one shot depending on the board state. Vizkopa Guildmage is an important card in this deck that can deal massive damage by either giving an opponent's creature lifelink or doubling up the damage from cards like Revenge of Ravens and Triskaidekaphobia.

You may be wondering what Aegis of the Gods and Pull from Eternity are doing in this deck. Aegis of the Gods is simply a good budget way to protect oneself from graveyard hate, since most of it requires targeting the player who owns the graveyard. Pull from Eternity might be a crazy include here, but I'm just thinking that a lot of the best enchantment removal exile the enchantment in question, which would make half of my deck very sad and bad. Since Ghen, Arcanum Weaver pulls things out of the graveyard anyway, Pull from Eternity would be a great response in that kind of situation. And hey it makes for a great counter if anyone ever suspends anything, like Sol Talisman.

I think everything else in this deck is pretty self-explanatory. This deck has never been playtested. As always, I'm very open to suggestions. Thanks so much for reading!
