If you don't remember Ghost dad, it was a control deck played during kamigawa/ravnica standard. You used Dark Confidant and Tallowisp to gain card advantage and cards like Pillory of the Sleepless and Sickening Shoal to control the board while Ghost Council of Orzhova and Thief of Hope ate away at their life.

I am currently trying to make this achtype viable in modern and the deck you are looking at is my best attempt. Any card suggestions are greatly appreciated and will be play tested to see how well they work with the deck. Also if you liked the deck don't forget to give it a +1.

CARD CHOICES:

Obzedat, Ghost Council while costing more than the older version, with this ghost council we get a sturdy 5/5 body, and it drains for 2 EVERY turn, unlike Ghost Council of Orzhova that made us sac creatures to use it's drain ability again. This also allows us to Sickening Shoal for 5 which allows us to kill cards like Siege Rhino.

Vampire Nighthawk: while not a spirit, nighthawk give us a way to protect ourselves from fliers. also paired with cards like Angelic Destiny or Spirit Mantle nighthawk gets pretty insane.

Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit: triggers Tallowisp and bolsters nicely with Ghost Council

Nameless Inversion : removal that triggers talllowisp

Inquisition of Kozilek: hand disruption, great for our strategy.

Temporal Isolation : instant speed "removal'' that can be tutored for with Tallowisp

Spirit Mantle : +1/+1 and pro creatures for 2 mana is pretty good

Angelic Destiny : a main win con for this deck, allows for huge swings of damage in the air and if the creature is killed you get it back to your hand. Can be tutored for with Tallowisp

Tallowisp lets us search for removal or our finisher Angelic Destiny

Pithing Needle: deals with problematic cards and can potentially shut down certain combo decks

Cranial Extraction combo hoser + Tallowisp trigger

Kami of Ancient Law : enchantment removal/ Tallowisp trigger

Leyline of Sanctity Protects us from direct damage and hand disruption

Dead Weight can work as removal or to de-buff a creature

Rule of Law shuts down combo decks like storm
