@dagan94:

I keep Reassembling Skeleton because it is one of the best reusable fodder you can have in mono black.

Thornbite Staff is an extreme combo piece, you can win games with that one. The fact that it untaps your commander after a creature enters the graveyard is what helps you combo out. You already untap from your commander's ability, let along anyone else's creature hitting the graveyard.

Dead useful.

Try Sidisi, Undead Vizier, and Dawn of the Dead, for you can bring Sidisi back with it, sac a zombie for exploit, tutor for whatever, and then sac him for more zombies.

Thornbite staff makes Gisa broken. Add in Ashnod's Alter and you can swing with all your zombies only to sac them to do direct damage with the staff.

I think you have way too much reanimate, you're making tokens and pulling sac triggers. Not trying to make a hack and slash deck.

Add in deathrender and blade of the bloodchief as equipment. You could also add the Mortician Beetle as a cheap benefactor to all the sac.

I would also get rid of Necromatic Selection, Decree of Pain, Life's Finale etc because you already have board wipes through sacrificing. You could also pick up Noxious Ghoul and pretty much board wipe all non-zombies everytime you made some with Gisa.

Other creatures id use are Butcher of Malakir, Adaptive Automaton, Phylactery Lich, Withered Wretch, Vengful Dead, Gravespawn Sovereign, Magus of the Coffers.

Urborg justice is pretty good given it's cheap and an instant for board removal.

Mind slash is a great sac outlet to look at other players cards and force discard.

@burnowan: Thanks for the input, I will have to try your suggestions the next time I re-tweak the deck.

Currently, my problem is dealing with board wipes and Mana. You gave me some good perspective to change back to a few key pieces.

I recommend Filth. Works wonders with Urborg. All my zombies are unblockable.

Play filth, sac filth to make 2 unblockale zombies.

I used to use Filth and Zombie Trailblazer along with Zombie Master. In finally had to just pick one of them, so I took regeneration over the rest.

Filth is a great addition if you have room.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I'd replace Wight of Precinct Six with maybe a Desecration Elemental. Much better fodder. Coat of Arms is a great card, too. And Li,-Dul the Necromancer.

Hey GasparAnt, thanks for the suggestions!

Do you think Desecration Elemental will mess up the mana curve? Otherwise I like it a lot! What would you cut, or what section would you cut from?

Lim-Dul the Necromancer is expensive, but I see why people like him. He is a one way creature recursion and regeneration enabler. How you seen him in play a whole lot? I am having a hard time with this one.

How many times has Coat of Arms come back to bite you? Which anthem would you take out?

GasparAnt says... #11

If you're using coat of arms correct, it shouldn't backfire. Thornbite + Coat + Gisa's will give you about a hundreds of zombies in a single turn. I think it's a risk worth taking, it's strong against a lot of decks. I would replace Cemetery Reaper. I don't think Desecration Elemental would ruin it that much, Since you can sac for eight early on for four mana. You might run into problems with Wight if whoever you're playing against isn't running that many creatures in their decks, or they just haven't died yet. My friend's deck only have about 3 creatures, so it hurts me a lot. Great card against multiple opponents, though.

Ashnod's Altar worked really well with Exsanguinate in my deck. I suggest you try it. Also an Army of the Damned with Obelisk of Urd for good measure.

Have you considered Unbreathing Horde?

@NecroPony: Thanks for the input, I used to use Army of the Damned. Great card, I am thinking of bringing it back at some point.

I also used to run Ashnod's Altar, but I had to many sacrifice outlets.

@RabidCatigi: I have considered it, I also used to run that card. This deck was very very heavily themed. To add a bit more control I added in non-zombies. I really do like that card though. It may come back in the future.

Grave Titan(and one of the tokens it spawns) + Ashnod's Altar + Nim Deathmantle= all the zombie tokens you'll ever want. Unless you have a rule for no infinite combos. Death Baron instead of Cemetery Reaper maybe, give all those tokens Deathtouch. Its a bit on the mana heavy side but Necromantic Selection targeting a creature of yours (preferably Gisa I suppose?) while you have a Grave Betrayal is a lot of fun in multiplayer.

@boyspud: Thanks for taking a look at the deck. I did at one point run your suggested combo, and it was fun. Flooding the field has always been a particular favorite of mine.

I want to replace Cemetery Reaper with Death Baron, but I am waiting to see how the fodder making goes with my most recent changes of the deck. I made the deck a bit more simple and more focused.

I would love to put Grave Betrayal in deck, along with the Death Baron. So really I need to play test some more and look for two cards I may cut.

Oh and quick question, would you all rather see Umbral Mantle or Thousand-Year Elixir?

November 8, 2015 5:16 p.m.

Lanzo493 says... #20

Umbral Mantle can go infinite with Phyrexian Altar so I'd go with that one. I also really like Grafted Wargear for these decks since for no additional mana you get 3 more zombies.

I can see myself going infinite in a very small way, you make a good point.

I give up haste for activated ability and a higher cmc cost.

Be that as it may, what are your opinions between Grave Betrayal and Scourge of Nel Toth? It is my only 7 cmc slot, so I must choose wisely.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel may be good to help you neutralize some of the loss of life from Graveborn Muse

xxSkedz24xx: I had him in the deck for a while, but then I just replaced it with Exsanguinate. Maybe I could switch it back.

jsansoldo: you are so right!
