Updated to have white for the board... lives at Whiteboard Elves.
Created right when Origins came out, as an updating of my More Modern Elves with Shaman of the Pack and
Dwynen's Elite
. Didn't keep track of its record that year, and it was on the sidelines for several months while I played 4 Color CoCo-Vial Allies (61-56-3 match record) -- except for a few ladder matches (with white and some match specific hate main boarded). Finally got it out in a more usual form, and saw exactly how out of practice I was with some of it in a ladder match. Now, with that out of my system and Craterhoof Behemoth added in... It's 10-7 in the matches I've remembered to record.
2-1 vs. Delver Moon (went 3-1 for 5th place); 2-0 vs. Merfolk (went 1-1-2 for 13th); 2-1 vs. UW Eldrazi (went 3-1 for 2nd); 2-1 vs. Shamans (went 3-1 for 3rd).
1-2 vs. Elves (mulled to 6 in games 1 and 3, should have gone to 5; Craterhoof on 4th turn in game 2; 1-3 for 10th place); 2-1 vs. Infect (mull to 5 in game 1 and lost, to 6 in game 3 and won; 2-2 for 6th place); 2-0 vs. Mardu (2-2 for 7th place); 2-1 vs. Temur Ascendancy (couldn't draw a kill card in game 1; ?-? for 9th place).
1-2 vs. Shamans (same I beat 2-1 two weeks earlier. Mulled to a weak 6 and one, mulled to 5 and 6 respectively and lost); 2-0 vs Temur Ascendancy; 1-2 vs. Mardu (same I beat 2-0 a week earlier. Only one land or mana-elf in the first six draws for one game); 1-2 vs. Grixus control (third game was a spectacular defeat, Consume the Meek followed by Haunting Echoes). My worst non-Bogle-playing night ever for mulligans, and I felt I needed more lands/mana-elves. A friend playing the same deck got land flooded several times that night though. So, leaving it be.
2-0 vs. Shamans (finished 2-2 in 10th; brought my record to 5-3 against that deck); 1-2 vs. Jund (finished 2-2 in 6th; game 3 was ugly as they god out Graffdigger's Cage and got the Glissa/destructofact combo going); 2-1 vs. Mardu Tokens (finished 2-2 in 9th; several misplays in my game 1 loss on my part); 0-2 vs. Infect (finished #5 at 3-1; turn slow in both games).
Sideboard needs thinking about -- but the local meta is all over the place. Didn't really do any sideboarding except for using Choke vs. U.
The dream start without interference is:
Turn 1 - Land, Mana Elf
Turn 2 - Land, Heritage Druid, Nettle Sentinel, Nettle Sentinel,
Dwynen's Elite
, Nettle Sentinel
Turn 3 - Craterhoof Behemoth attacking with it and three Nettle Sentinel's and the Elite
Haven't gotten a turn 3 yet, but seems to get one or two turn 4s every night.
