I tried out the Lavamancer here, he's too slow. If I did go that route I'd rather just splash black for Deathrite Shaman and Bump in the Night .

Might i suggest adding Pyromancer's Gauntlet ?

5 mana is going to be dead here. I think I'll pass.

If you like the effect of Pyromancer's Gauntlet , but hate the cost, I'd go with Guttersnipe . Sure, it won't burn permanents extra, but then, who cares?

@kingoharts: 3 mana is just too much for this deck. It's too slow. I can suspend a Rift Bolt on turn 1.

+1 for that aggro burn! "Where'd my life go?" lol. Seems like Isochron Scepter would be a shoe-in. Check out my aggro burn: Kill it with FIRE!!

Isochron (will refer to it as stick for now) looks great on paper. It's a pretty rare thing to see it in competitive burn though. I dunno. It seems like a good late game mana dump, if nothing else. I'll think about it.

Play Eidolon of the Great Revel there is no reason not to, it needs to be a four of in every burn deck put it in over Vexing Devil . Also 3 Grim Lavamancer and add a additional Searing Blaze to the mainboard and cut Lightning Helix

I've been running the helixes to help in aggro matchups and to mitigate the life loss from my fetches. I know some people don't like it. And it's funny how you suggested my entire maybeboard. I dunno. I feel like the deck loses speed with eidolons over devils. I need to test soon and decide which I like more.

Okay so, made space. Eidolon's in for now. But only as a two-of. Because I'm still not certain on whether I like it, and I only own two. The jury is still out on the lavamancers, which I've decided to call Grim Llamamancer. Truth be told, I almost feel dirty for running any less than 4 Skullcracks.

Like you mentioned earlier, I say 4 Skullcrack is a must. Even if it prevents 1-2 life gained for them, that's still very helpful. I'm finding it amazing myself.

Hmm, what would I drop for a lavamancer? I only own 1 as of now.

Looking for ideas on mana fixing. And I'm fairly dead-set on trying to make 4 colors work.

Nice burn deck! Looks like a fun theme to play. Does burn have any bad match ups beside life gain heavy decks?

Maybe infect since they can protect/pump their creatures and kill you faster. That and Tron but that's about it. Affinity isn't great either.

Burn's absolute worst matchup is itself honestly. It just becomes a clusterf*ck, kor firewalkers come in game 2 which they struggle to kill, and it really just comes down to luck.

+1 considered making either modern burn or legacy reanimator, both decks seem real fun to play

Earthquake is too slow, try Keldon Marauders and Grim Lavamancer + Shocklands instead of Spark Elemental
