And yes, Painter's Servant is legal in Duel Commander. It was the inspiration for this deck, after all.

The Combos:

Llawan, Cephalid Empress + Painter's Servant = Bye bye creature spells for everyone else but you.

Archaeomancer + Familiar's Ruse / Familiar's Ruse + Scrivener = Counterspell recursion on a stick.

Hinder + Tunnel Vision / Spell Crumple + Tunnel Vision = Someone's not going to have a deck for very much longer.

Counterbalance + Sensei's Divining Top = No cards in hand? No problem! Your shit still ain't hitting the board.
