The Gitrog is single Handily the Engine to this deck, I'm in love playing this commander.

If you plan on using the rog you will need no less then 43 lands. best case is 50 (currently trying to cut to make it to 50)

This deck goes from 0 to Mud holing you opponent. you want to make it work that you can place a land every turn. Its not always wise to burn a land for a free draw if you know you wont have a land to lay down next phase, All your big monsters are high mana costs so you don't want to deplete yourself.

You want to get The Gitrog Monster out on turn 4 the latest. once you start ramping up on mana some of your biggest combos involve cards like Craterhoof Behemoth mid game after you have spammed tokens with Worm Harvest, Terastodon, Titania, Protector of Argoth,Avenger of Zendikar

Another Big combo is mid game summoning Ob Nixilis, the Fallen and Rampaging Baloths then using Boundless Realms.
